Belkin's USB-C Hub: A Reliable Winner!
Okay, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to my tech accessories, but Belkin almost always nails it. I've been a loyal customer for years, and their hubs and transfer wires are consistently top-notch. This Belkin Connect 4 Port USB C Hub definitely keeps that streak going, it never lets me down. You get four USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, each ready for ultra high-speed data transfers up to 10Gbps, which is fantastic for my external SSDs and other peripherals. It's super handy for connecting all my gear, from cameras to a keyboard, and I've had zero issues with performance. The pass-through charging up to 100W is also a lifesaver, keeping my laptop juiced up while I use the hub. Plus, the compact design and durable build mean I can toss it in my bag without a second thought. Belkin truly understands what users need in a reliable multi-port adapter.

Need more USB-C ports AND passthrough power?
This hub is very handy if you need to use multiple USB-C peripherals but still need passthrough power for your laptop, 65 watts in my case. I have not experienced any noticeable difference in transfer speeds or heat. Typical Belkin high quality, all the ports are tight and connections feel secure. I want to note that this unit will NOT allow HDMI functions via USB-C. I still need to plug my external display directly into the other USB-C port on my laptop. The only downside is that the surface of the hub is a high gloss black, which will scuff like crazy the first time you toss it into your backpack or set it on the table. Does not at all effect functionality but can be annoying for some. Otherwise, this is now one of my essential daily tech accessories.

Works Seamlessly
Works great and seamlessly allows for connecting multiple devices. Also able to read/review data on all my old micro SD cards.

Good so far
Got this today. Plugged in monitor to hdmi and a USB keyboard. Keyboard worked, but monitor didn’t. Thankfully a quick search said to unplug for about a minute or so and then plug in hub first, then hdmi, which cleared it up easily. Nice quality! Happy with so far.

Works
I recently bought a Casio keyboard to learn piano. I also got an IPad so I could use different sound sources and a piano learning app. Unfortunately iPads don’t have headphone jacks so you are forced to use Bluetooth. Bluetooth has a latency problem; whenever I depress a key in the piano it takes a 1/2 second for the sound to be produced in the headphones. Can’t play any instrument if the sound production isn’t instantaneous. In order to solve this I needed a usb c headphone converter and the Belkin hub so I could also plug in my piano. Anyway, this hub works. So now I can use my iPad for music and listen with headphones. For some reason, the charging port doesn’t work…maybe it only works on a computer. Whatever…it works for my needs.

Wont charge my Ipad or Iphone 15
I purchased one of this hub. I used the device instructions (see photo). Plugged it into the wall outlet using an iphone charger and an apple usb-c cable. Plugged the attached black cable into my ipad Plugged a WD external HDD in one of the 3 remaining ports The ipad connects to the HDD, no issues. But my Ipad does not charged. Tried with an iphone 15. Same issue. Tried different wall chargers. Same issue. The power pass through does not charge the ipad or iphone 15 Humm.. deffective unit? Contacted belkin support. They confirmed my setup was ok. I returned the device to Amazon and ordered a new one thinking the one i received was deffective. Received the new hub. Used the same setup. Same issue. Wont charge my ipad or iphone 15. I reversed the connection (black cable connected to wall charger and power port to ipad). Now this charges my ipad, but ipad does not see the HDD. This is not what i need. A usb hub to charge my ipad and power a HDD drive at the same time. Not sure if the second unit is faulty. Was a out to return it too, when i came across a review with the same problem indicating that it works well with a 45W wall charger. The typical Ipad/ Iphone charger is too weak to power the hub. I purchased a 45W wall charger and the usb hub works as planned. Belkin should clearly indicate this in the written product instructions and in the product desctiption on their website and on Amazon. Buyer beware!

A hub is not a dock. This is a very good USB-C hub
Does what a hub ought to do - which is to say, you can plug it into one USB-C port and it will make power and data connectivity available to four downstream USB-C devices. The big caveats are that the host cable is extremely short and the power made available to downstream devices is significantly reduced from what the host provides. It's still a five star device because these short cables are universally present on all USB-C hubs, and the power limitations are less severe than other similar products that I have tested. Most importantly, the data connectivity offered by this unit is excellent, and it's extremely portable, being barely larger than the connectors it contains. I would still very much prefer a version of this device with a USB-C female connector on the back instead of the permanently attached short cable but apparently there are valid technical reasons that USB-C hubs are not made in this way. Devices that offer more power and better cabling options are now classified as docks rather than hubs, they tend to be based on Thunderbolt rather than plain old USB-C, and some of these docks are quite excellent, but they are comparatively very expensive. This particular device is just a hub, it is very affordable compared to a dock, and it's as good as USB-C hubs get.

Cannot be used with monitors
I was hoping to use this to plug two external monitors into a single USB port on my Macbook Pro M4, or at least to be able to connect both my external monitor and the webcam that sits on top of it to my Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, none of them work. I cannot even use it with only the webcam. It's disappointing and not a great value for the money.
