Telescopic blackout curtain rods, easy install, sleek design
TLDR: Easy install, clean design. Telescopic rod allows for exact length in any location. Works well in a door way too. What I liked: I love how this makes the curtain wrap around the edges. This has a more modern design than some other similar options. I chose this because some of the other options remind me of wrap around curtains at the hospital! Haha! This rod doesn’t give off that vibe. I am using this in a doorless doorway between primary bedroom and bathroom. I went with silver to match the hardware in my bathroom. This was so easy to install and it looks nice! I love the telescopic rod because you can choose the exact length. In the past, I had tried the splicing rods on windows and those suck. Spliced rods aren’t as precise.i also like that the brackets and screws are completely covered in this design. I hung mine 5” from the ceiling and that’s as high as I could get it with keeping enough space to slip the rod in place. The rods are well made and unscrew on the ends making it easy to place and remove curtains. The curtains slide easily across the bar. I got this on sale so it was a good value! What could be better: This is everything I need it to be! I wouldn’t change it! Fit/size: I ordered size 28”-48” rod for a doorway and it’s perfect for what I need. Durability/maintenance: This design makes it easy to take the curtains down to wash or replace. Would I recommend: Yes! This is best for anyone who is looking to boost effectiveness of blackout curtains or wants to boost privacy for curtains in a doorway. About my photos/video: Photos show the rod in place in my bedroom/bathroom doorway.

Wrap Around Curtain Rod Delivers Real Room Darkening
I bought the wrap around curtain rod because I wanted a neat flush look that blocks light without dealing with a bunch of brackets. It seemed perfect for a room that gets bright mornings, offering a wrap around design that sits against the wall and covers the edges of the window. The kit comes with everything needed to install and the soft black matte finish looks clean in my living space. In day to day use the rod went up quickly and the curtains move smoothly. The wrap around ends hug the window so light leakage is minimized and the center support bracket keeps the rod steady for wider setups. It supports up to 22 pounds, which is enough for most blackout or room darkening panels I use. It also adjusts to different curtain styles thanks to the flexible brackets. What stood out most was how the finish and design feel sturdy and modern without looking bulky. There are no visible brackets from the front and the overall silhouette stays neat with a wide range of drapery options. The main caveat is that longer windows require the center support, which adds a step to the install and a bit more measuring. Still, the result is solid and the room feels noticeably darker and more polished. Overall I am very happy with this choice and it has noticeably improved the room.

A sleek modern wraparound curtain rod with invisible brackets
I needed a curtain rod installed over a doorway between my bedroom and the ensuite bathroom area. This one fit the bill as I wanted something modern and easy to install. This rod actually replaced a rod I previously purchased from IKEA that broke. Unfortunately for me, IKEA no longer sells that rod so I went in search of one on Amazon. The Umbra rod is sleek and modern. I like the hidden bracket to hide the screws. the instructions are straightforward. I actually used some of the same holes and only had to screw in two anchors for the install as the previous rod had level screws. It saved me time. The length was perfect for over the doorway. The curtain slides nicely although it can get caught a little on the extension part. It works for the bedroom and I just need to patch the other holes before repainting.

Little far from the wall, but good quality
Wish the return was smaller (so the rod itself was closer to the wall) it works and seems sturdy, but not a whole lot better at blocking light than a regular rod. It isn't very easy to change the curtains as you have to take the rod entirely off and unscrew the end then screw it back on and hang it up again. The wall anchors/hardware are quality and the rod is nice.

Holds up 8
The black version I ordered got jacked off my front porch, so I decided to order the double rod in silver since they were out of the black double rod. I am very very happy with it. I have about 8 panels of VERY heavy black out curtains on it, and it has stood the test of time. I really like the curve on both sides so minimal light & heat comes through. I live in the desert, so black out curtains are a must, and several panels of them if you want the curtains to look pretty. Very happy. I like that even the double rod is slim, making it easy to move the curtains back and forth. The slim design blends well and also works with the style and decor of my house.

Quick and easy installation, sturdy, and sleek. Good value for the price.
I bought this rod to replace a traditional drapery system with a pull-cord. The rod is a sleek matte nickel material that looked great with the mid-century modern look of the room I installed it is. The rod wraps around the end of the window to eliminate light from entering the room from the edge of the window. I am considering getting two more of these to put in my bedroom to keep light out. Installation was very quick. It took about 15 minutes, and it really only took that long because I installed it without a drill. The instructions are quite clear. Once you have measured and marked your chosen spots to install using the plates as a guide for screw placement, installation will be complete in a matter of minutes. A drill will make quick work of installing the 4 to 6 wall anchors/screws needed to hold the 2 or three plates. I used all three plates, because I have the rod extended to its full length and thus used the center support, which would not be required for shorter uses. The rod ends and center support then slide easily onto the plates. There are three long sections of the rod, two of which screw onto the ends, and the center piece which telescopes onto them. The rod is sturdy enough to hold the moderately heavy drapes which I have on them. I currently have four on the rod without any bowing, but will be adding to more to complete the look and have no concerns that the rod will bow. The drapes I have are not insulated, so I am not sure if six heavy, insulted drapes with the rod fully extended would cause bowing, but I believe the center support would prevent any real issues. Installing the drapes on the rod was very easy- they slipped onto the rod smoothly and do not snag when opening or closing. The only problem I had with this was the two rubber rings meant to be used on either side of the center support to keep the rod from sliding. They are one the rod when it arrives, and since they are clear, it is hard to tell they are there. When I was unpackaging the product, I didn't see them, and when I finally noticed one, I didn't realize what it was. Consequently, one was lost during unpackaging and I have not yet found it. However, I have also not had a problem with the rod sliding thus far. These products should have been included in the bag with the hardware, because I never actually touched them, but rather took off the plastic protecting the rod, and both of them came off. Overall, I am very happy with this product. Pros: -Affordable; a good value -Quick and easy installation -Sleek, streamlined appearance. Much nicer than the old-fashioned drapery system it replaced. -Hanging the drapes on the rod was simple Cons: -Rubber rings should have been packed in hardware bag instead of on rod -Would have loved this to be just a few inches longer

Great Product
I have two, double French doors that open up to my patio. In the winter you can feel coldness radiating through the doors. I decided to hang thermal curtains over them to preserve the heat. The width of the doors, outer edge of frame to frame is 132 inches. The height is 98 inches when adding the transom windows above. I wanted one full curtain rod versus two separate rods for each set of doors. This rod did the trick! I had to use a minimum of three 108 inch tall insulated panels, which is a lot of weight. I was grateful to see this rod came with a center bracket. Unfortunately there were no studs where I needed to mount the brackets. Due to the weight of the curtains I did not use the included mounting screws. Instead, I purchased two types of anchors: - TOGGLER Polypropylene Anchor (top hole) - Self Drilling Drywall Nylon Anchors (bottom hole) >>> IMPORTATNT: You have to install the wall brackets as strait (up and down) as possible. If not, the rod that attaches to that bracket will be on an angle. I did this by drilling the top hole first. I then attached the wall bracket and held it strait to mark the bottom holes. I then drilled a small pilot hole for the bottom, self-tapping anchor. This is just one of various ways to insure the bracket is strait, when the screws are tightened. <<< I inserted the TOGGLER anchors on a 25 degree angle as not to block the bottom screw on the backside of the drywall. I went with the self-drilling anchors on the bottom in order to maintain as much of the drywall's structural integrity as possible. Also, the greater force will always be exerted on the top hole because the bracket extends a few inches outward (from the wall). Again, the anchor upgrade is due to the weight of the 108 inch tall, insulated curtains. Others may not need to go this route. Another plus is the wraparound feature on each end. This may likely have been designed to prevent light from bleeding in through the sides. It works just as well in preventing cold from leaching in through the sides. Then there is also the stylish look of the rod itself. I like this so much I am purchasing another one for my second bedroom door that opens to the patio. This is more for light blocking, than thermal insulation. I highly recommend this product as it is sturdy, stylish, and easy to install. I only wish you could upgrade hardware for a price to account for situations like mine. That said, more capable anchors are not hard to find for rare situations like mine. Five stars all of the way!!!

I can now live like a vampire!
First things first, I used 28 to 48-Inch model for a window frame that is 46.5 inches across. It ended up working great for me, but I still wanted to mention a few things… For those of you that are like me and have never put up a curtain rod before, please note that there is usually metal that goes out about 1 inch all the way around the window frame. The first hole I tried to drill, I hit metal, woops! So just make sure you drill far enough out to make sure you can make it through the drywall. This also may affect your measurements, because if your window frame is 48 inches, you may actually need more like 50 inches, so that would put you up into the next 48-88 inch model. The only downside to getting the bigger one is that it costs more, other than that; it should increase the rigidity of the curtain rod. My goal was to block out as much sunlight as possible because I like to sleep in on the weekends so I needed a curtain rod that allowed the curtains to wrap around the side. I first ended up trying light blocking curtains from walmart that were ranked “best” on their good, better, best scale; and they were complete garbage. I then tried these ones: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AFA5LI/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i08?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I can say that they are better at blocking light than any other curtains I’ve ever seen. I know this will make me sound like a vampire, but even with this wraparound curtain rod and these amazing curtains, some light still manages to come out of the top. There is a gap between the curtain rod and the wall, if anyone has a suggestion to remedy this, it would be greatly appreciated. The other note I wanted to make is that these are very user friendly to install, you just mount the brackets to the wall and then slide the sides over them and screw the extending rod into each end. The only problem with the easy install slide-on brackets; is that they don’t feel very solid. It will surely hold up your curtains, but it leaves something to be desired for rigidity. I still give these 5 stars as I am now able to sleep in on weekends without the sun waking me up! Please let me know if you have any questions.
