Quirky but AMAZING VALUE for the purchase price... (+ TopTracer comparison)
So let's start this off by saying that I have done a bunch with this thing: 1) I took it to a TopTracer equipped driving range and compared distances in excellent outdoor conditions. Granted it was with some pretty mediocre yellow range balls, but the MLM2PRO picked them up without an issue. 2) I compared the MLM2PRO to the original Rapsodo MLM (my friend has one) and was compared them both while hitting against a net. It fared very well, as you would expect it would. 3) I played multiple simulated rounds with the included Awesome Golf and had a blast doing so. I have included some screenshots from an Awesome Gold range session, worked very well. 4) I have become pretty addicted to the Combine in the MLM2PRO app, it's very well conceived and executed. ========== OVERALL ========== -= One thing is for certain with me, this thing is a TREMENDOUS VALUE! =- --- There have been some quirks with it and I've had to work through them with a little bit of trial and error. But as a whole, the entire setup process was painless. The connectivity to Awesome Golf via Bluetooth was rock solid. The software features are robust and extensive... Overall, I have had a blast with this thing! ================= PROS - WHAT I LOVED ================== -= It just feels like a QUALITY PIECE OF TECH =- --- From the way that the unit is packaged in its carrying case to its ingenious design and how the MLM2 clicks into the three-legged stand that has little notches in it to hold an iPad/Tablet -- it's all just very well constructed and smartly built. -= The SOFTWARE has come a long way - The COMBINE is so well done =- --- I was comparing it to the original MLM and you can just see how much the software suite has improved just over the last few years alone. The way the connections are established (both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity) as well as the manner in which it walks a new customer through the process -- it is both clear and detailed. --- Connectivity issues can occur on Local WiFi (see commentary below) but throughout that issue the software alerts you and tells you when connection has been re-established. There is also a workaround for maintaining solid connectivity via Direct Wi-Fi until the Shared WiFi issue is remedied, see more below. --- The Combine is a BLAST! (see video -- https://youtu.be/fwzEGynxEbQ) ... The more and more I used it over time I could see how the Combine could really help you hone your game. If there are certain clubs or distances that you struggle with then you can focus on those and continue to put the work in to improve. ================================== THE DETAILS - A FEW STRUGGLES ================================== -= Limited Metric Count on iPhone =- --- My primary gripe from the start was that on an iPhone it only shows 3 METRICS (I went with swing speed, carry distance and launch angle) and I really most definitely craving a few more. In my opinion this is totally fixable via a software update because when I dropped in an iPad on the MLM2PRO stand I got 6 METRICS and that was the perfect amount (see my video attached) -= Connection Issues when on Shared WiFi =- --- So yes, the connection issues ARE real and I was afflicted by these as well. Admittedly it was when I attempted to connect to my Local/Shared Wi-Fi and then have the MLM2PRO connect. It was pretty much hit or miss when I first started using it and, well, I was pretty concerned. --- Then I started reading some MLM2PRO forums and Reddit and people mentioned that it's far more stable if you CONNECT DIRECTLY to your iPhone or iPad with the Direct Wi-Fi. This uses a "direct connection" between the two devices... WORKED LIKE A CHARM! --- The downside to this though is that Awesome Golf and other apps which require a shared internet connectivity can then become a little tricky if your connected device doesn't have a data plan. Since that device is now using the Wi-Fi connection to "talk to the MLM2PRO". --- So, in short, when I play Awesome Golf I use my phone (since it has unlimited data and a 5G connection) and then when I want to hone my stats/numbers I use the bigger iPad since it doesn't need the Internet to do so and I get my 6 metrics to track. Then when my iPad is disconnected and back on the Wi-Fi it syncs my results like a champ. -= Amazing Customer Support =- -- HELP IS COMING, PEOPLE... With all of that said, I did have a pleasant exchange with Rapsodo support at the outset and they are obviously well aware of the Shared/Local Wi-Fi issue and tell me that a fix is coming... it truthfully was an excellent customer support experience for me to work with them and they were just generally so helpful and very appreciative of my business. -- To be honest, I'm confident that the Shared Wi-Fi connectivity issues will be fixed, it just doesn't feel like a hardware issue to me at all. I was a software developer by trade and given how rock-solid the direct connection experience has been this just FEELS like a totally fixable software issue that can be patched/fixed. -- In the interim, I'm happy using the MLM2PRO via direct Wi-Fi and my iPad until that software fix is delivered. ========================= GO PLAY SOME VIRTUAL GOLF! ========================= So that's how I feel about the MLM2PRO... was it perfect at launch? Nope... is it getting better by the day? ABSOLUTELY! This thing is an incredible piece of tech and is a seriously capable piece of hardware right out of the box. I'm having a blast with it and can wholeheartedly recommend it with the aforementioned tweaks. I'm also very confident that it will continue to get better and that the company will support it for years to come. WELL DONE, RAPSODO!

Great Tool for Improving Game and Having Fun
This is a great launch monitor/simulator for an even better price. If you are on the fence, buy it. Some notes below but my favorite feature on the MLM2Pro is the video it takes of your full body swing and a zoomed in impact. The stats you get are great but when making a swing change this was by far the best feature to replay with slow motion to review my mechanics. It is also very easy to set up to cast to a TV or projector and screen. - Accuracy: I find the MLM2Pro to be just as accurate other more expensive launch monitors and is within a few yards of my real life yardages - Consistency: The MLM2Pro is fairly consistent, every once in a while there may be an error in capturing a shot or I get an unrealistic number (228 yard 9 iron shot) but I would put this rate at less than 1% and you can delete these shots so they do not effect your stats. - Modes: Great modes for practicing and playing rounds. The trainings games and stats are great for improving my game. - Firmware: Rapsodo does a great job making updates to the firmware to better the experience. When I the first version of firmware I had did not read short chip shots very well. After an update, this problem was resolved. - The Bad: I one minor complaint. The MLM2Pro golf balls to get enhanced data are fairly expensive and the graphics on the ball that allow them to capture the spin wear off after a few months. I would not keep this from purchasing but so you are aware.

Top notch launch monitor for half the cost of comparable units
I recently picked up the new Rapsodo MLM2PRO Mobile Launch Monitor and couldn’t wait to get to it. I’m a former Assistant Golf Professional slowly rediscovering my game after years of minimal play and even less practice. Not only that, I am an Industrial Engineer and Math geek that loves numbers and data and the Rapsodo did not disappoint. I managed 3 sessions in the first week(!) – one at the range and more importantly, two at home hitting into a net (saving me time and money). The unit was very easy to set up and get moving each time. Each session proved extremely helpful, from the ability to see results of 11 different metrics instantaneously as well as the great video clarity that captured and auto-replayed every shot (a setting you can toggle on/off). My numbers on the Rapsodo seemed pretty accurate and in line with what I have seen at a couple of ranges that now have Trackman installed which makes me very happy that I can do this in the comfort of my backyard (and garage in the winter) without wondering if I am missing anything. On the range, I loved the tracer line in the video which, coupled with the metrics, allowed me to make quick changes to my setup and see immediate results in increased distance with my driver. Without this I wouldn’t have known what to do to find optimal launch angle which literally added 20 yards from early session drivers to end of session. At home, I tested using old practice balls alongside the Callaway RPT Chrome Soft X included with the Rapsodo. The monitor was more accurate at picking up the Callaway RPT so I’ll stick with using them. So excited after 3 sessions and I don’t think I have scratched the surface yet! There is still so much more for me access with the 1 year Free Premium Membership that came with the purchase – and I plan to get to all of them. For example, there is a Combine mode (developed with Dr Sasho Mackenzie – creator of The Stack System) that will assess my data, evaluate strengths and weaknesses to help customize a practice routine for me. And there are thousands of courses for me to play in simulation mode. Needless to say I wish I had this when I was teaching my clients. On the other side of the coin, there really is only one thing I am hoping will change in the near future and that is the ability to use speed training equipment with the Rapsodo. Speed training is huge now, the best way to pick up distance and probably not going away - ever. Although there are ways to use some of the speed equipment available and track driver stats with the Rapsodo, having an all inclusive device would be amazing. With Dr. Mackenzie as an Advisor I am keeping my fingers crossed that they can find a way to get there soon! Absolutely confident that the Rapsodo will help me to make fast and sustainable improvements to my game.

It’s the best, worst product I’ve ever kept!
Very impressed with the unit and how it (could) function. I’ve had it almost a year and I wanted to wait and give a very honest review! I think I’ve used it MAYBE 10 times without hiccups or connection issues and I try and use it 3-4 days a week in my home sim. They have no problem blacking you out of using features on your paid subscription based service without warning, no explanation. Easy to use if it works, connection issues are absolutely horrific most days. I have a direct hardline to a wireless access point 6ft away from the unit and still has insane trouble connecting, staying connected or crashing. I love the value, but it’s honestly not worth the headache. I wish I had spent the money up front on a better one….after you buy the unit you pay a subscription fee, then $70 for 12 balls that don’t last more than 70 swings each before the pattern is too damaged to recognize ball spin, or they’ll break, or booger up your impact screen. Graphics assessment says I have the highest option it recommends, then goes into a simulated course and there absolutely zero trees landscape or anything that makes it a golf course, just flat no dimension or anything. When customer service gets back to you after 7-14 working days, they just say: delete and Redownload the app, download firmware, update your app, or maybe your internet isn’t good….. good god, It’s so bad so unhelpful! It’s a very cool idea, seams like they rushed it, and I promise you, they don’t care about your input. I wish they were better about informing paying customers about their downtimes, and explaining why their servers crash all the time. Everytime they add a new feature the app just gets worse. Don’t take my word for it, go to Reddit, join the Facebook page, both are full of complaints and one guy who works for them just says “email our support team” HINT: it doesn’t help. With a that being said, I fricken love this thing when it works. Great graphics for the price, once you have it set up correctly, the data points actually are within 2-3% of trackman numbers and only for 3.5% of the price of it. Great cameras, great picture and FPS. >10yd Chipping is hot garbage and hasn’t changed, won’t read short lob or bumps that don’t fly 6-8 ft forward. Perry bad processing speed Frustrated is an understatement, excited to use it after a day of working. To find out I have to spend time Messing with it and figuring out why it works great with no issues and then all of the sudden, back to square 1. Wish they gad better communication. Chinese owned company, if it didn’t work they would still sell it. And act like you’re the problem. Save yourself the trouble and just go to the range.

Worth the investment!!!!
4 stars is mainly due to the fact I wish it had more kid friendly options to bring the whole family in. My daughters really enjoy learning golf but it needs to feature some mini games and options for course play. I have had disconnects here and there but not so much that for the price it's something I can deal with. I mainly use in the garage and have only tried at the range twice so can't review outdoor use. It seems super accurate I have dialed in yardage and matches very well to on course. Seems high quality and user friendly. Be sure you use the Callaway rapsodo balls and the unit needs to be level and alignment near perfect in order for accurate readings. Unfortunately the balls you get don't really hold up that well the dots wear off and then you have to spend another small fortune on 3 more balls. Other than small thing here and there I am extremely pleased with the product and at least this way I can play without losing balls 😀.

Bang for your buck. 7 month review.
It's actually pretty good. Connectivity is great. It definitely helped my swing. Charging take a bit long but that's not an issue. Battery life, I can play 3 full courses before it goes dead. Shot tracking is pretty accurate using the RPT balls. It does tend to have some non-read shots, I would say every 1 to 2 of every 10 shots would be not read. Downside the shot tracking area is relatively small. I bought a mlm2pro stand with laser to i wouldnt have to refer to my phone to check the shot tracking area and it works well. For 700 bucks, its a pretty good launch monitor. I've had this launch monitor for about 7 months. I play on it 8 to 10 times a month for about 2 to 3 hours each session. Battery is holding up well and shot tracking is doing great.

Really help to improve my game
I use the MLM2PRO in my basement hitting balls into a net. Most of the time using the driving range but do enjoy the simulation and combines. I am able to get a half hour of practice in per day without having to load my clubs up and driving out the the range. That saves me a great deal of time. After a winter of practice, I could see great improvement when I started golfing this spring. The ball distances seem very accurate to what I actually shoot out on the course. The spin rate feature using the rapsudo balls is great. It allows me to try different shape shots and gives me a better idea of how the ball is flying. Hitting into a you can't tell how the path of the ball was actually going to be. The rapsudo does a great job of giving you a accurate image of how the ball flight is. The video capturing is also a great feature. It allows me to look at my swing from different angles after my session is completed. I can then compare my bad shots or good shots to the video to see what I did wrong or what I did right in my swing. It has allowed me to find my swing faults and correct them as I go. Rapsudo seems to be constantly updating the software and adding new features. This is great! I always look forward to the next feature drop. Some people experienced problems with Wi-Fi and it dropping out constantly. I did not experience this myself. The Wi-Fi in my basement where I use the repsudo is very strong. Perhaps this has something to do with it. Overall, I would highly recommend this golf launch monitor. It performs just as good as the high-end ones that I have used in simulators but is very affordable for your average golfer like me.

Constant disappointment
I have used the MLM Pro for over a year now in my home simulator. Overall, I’ve been very disappointed. I decided to go with the budget route instead of a more expensive launch monitor. I invested more money on a good projector, simulator enclosure and a gaming pc to run GS pro and that was a mistake. The MLM is glitchy, has connectivity issues and provides inaccurate data. I recently purchased the mevo GEN 2 as a replacement. I’ve been running the two side-by-side and there is no comparison and the mevo wins hands-down for slightly more cost. If you’re looking for a good in-home launch monitor don’t waste your money on this product.
