Great book to educate children the basic knowledge

Well layed out & easy to follow for my 9 year old daughter, she enjoyed it

Well illustrated and clearly written. A good starting point for the young. I purchased this book for my 7 year old granddaughter but feel that this would not have been appropriate for another year so have kept it back for her.

My 8 year old daughter started showing interest in famous paintings and painters during lockdown. This book was perfect to give her extra knowledge. She had numerous attempts on painting pictures from the book as well. Good intro into art of painting.

Good general art knowledge for kids, just right in the amount, we still go back to it sometimes.

Definitely a nice overview and introduction to some important artists. Good and colourful selection for kids with timeline, short profile of the artist and a few hints and details along the way to point out what speciality and details to look for. Good as a starter for arts projects or to recognise certain artists. Appealing and versatile layout, which invites the child to explore and dive deeper.

Art is in our DNA & we’ve encouraged our kids & grandkids to paint and Learn about significant artists. Their favorites are covered here & they all ate it up & then painted for days. Shelby, 8, had a class on Georgia O’Keefe - this gave her paintings to copy. My 12 yo grandson saw the contemporary paintings w bold colors & lines & that has got him stepping out some from his animation work. My 5 go’s eyes light up & even he was able to copy the pictures he liked. It’s hard to find books to stimulate trying new looks but this did. We read it to William (5) & he asked lots of good questions. We had some great conversations. This helps develop a love for Art Appreciation that will be lifelong. Encourage them to play! It is a great outlet - you can paint your feelings at any age. We do this as children happily — we should Never stop doing it!
