Great stuff
I have been using this for years and I'm sure it helps cats with kidney disease. Other versions have come out over the years in paste form, but the cats always turn their nose up at food with them in. That has never been a problem with Ipakitine. As most of us know, cats can be very picky with renal food and I get fed up with opening endless renal pouches costing £1+ a pouch, only for cats to ignore them. Regular food with Ipakitine is 2nd best, but the bottom line is getting our cats to eat. Given that it's enough to dose 180 meals, it's well worth the price for a small pot of powder (although my latest cat in in his 5th year since diagnosis and his phosphate level is rising, so the vet told me to add extra Ipakitine to his meals)

Necessary
Tub came in good condition with seal intact. Dog Didn't seem to taste in dinner. No tummy upsets, easy to measure out with spoon inside. As with all medicine can have side affects. Dog now has anemia, but, having said that if she didn't have this she wouldn't be able to have normal food she would be on renel food which she detests. Will be buying again

Great product
yes!!! Vet recommended this product for resolving a kidney problem common in senior cats. It immediately picked my cat up and gave him a vigourous life again. It's not a permanent solution, but it will slow down kidney problems. He likes to eat it mixed in with his breakfast and dinner.

Seems to be working!
Bought for my elderly cat that was diagnosed with kidney disease and special food is not available at my location. She eats it no problem, is looking healthier but haven't had new bloodwork done to check kidneys. Seemed expensive but it lasts ages. Will continue to put it on her food.

Has helped or £2000+ per annum cat
Our cat has had chronic kidney failure diagnosed for 5+ years. We have been using this item sparingly for our cat for over 5 years now in combination with a diet comprising high quality fresh and manufactured cat food, supplemented with specialist renal food. Like many cats, our cat will tolerate renal foods to a degree, but rapidly loses interest, but more importantly she loses weight; it is very important for cats to retain their weight when suffering from renal disease. Our vet recommended that we didn't use this product for prolonged periods and whilst I respect his professional opinion, faced with the challenge of feeding a cat solely renal food, which she barely tolerated, or allowing her to enjoy her life, we relented and use this product on a daily basis. When she eats solely renal food, we do notice that she urinates into her box much less, however, when faced with a cat who has a full bowl of expensive renal food untouched who is howling to be fed, we feel that we have achieved a compromise with her and she is fed traditional food twice a day, with half of her daily allowance of Ipakitine sprinkled over each meal, with top ups during the day of good quality renal food in small amounts (1 to 2 sachets a day). It seems to work and she has reached the age of 16 years, at least 5 years of which she has been treated for renal disease and associated hypertension. It certainly isn't a cheap option to supplement her food with this product, which she has no problem eating just sprinkled on top of her normal meals. How well it works for each individual cat I have no idea, however, when first diagnosed, our vet thought that she might last for two or three years as her condition was quite advanced when diagnosed and five or more years later......... Update Make that 8 years"……Grace at almost 18 years old is still going strong.
