Quality radio, great value
This radio is a big improvement on the early Baofeng radios that I have had for a few years. Quality seems very good and battery life using the supplied battery is excellent. Receive and transmit audio is good. Documentation does explain functions in English and the control buttons for them are shown. Details of how to do most things is missing. Programming is not easy without using a computer. At least for now, it does not use CHIRP software for programming as many radios from various manufacturers do. The software that is used, and can be downloaded, is fairly straightforward and it does work without too much trouble. It will work with the same usb interface cable that works with Chirp. So I used my Baofeng cable. However, it is not possible to clone a complete repeater list such as one used by a radio that used CHIRP or to read in a list in spreadsheet format, such as a .csv file. That makes programming repeaters quite tedious. Each repeater has to be entered one at a time. Importing repeater lists from an online directory would be great. For a radio boasting 200 memory channels there has to be an easier way to populate them. My guess is that these radios will be added sooner or later to the list of those that use Chirp. That would make transition to this radio much easier. So, UV-K5 gets a 5. Programming software a 3 or 4...

Nice inexpensive radio
Ad says they will attach battery to ship, so doesn't mean it is used. Mine was new. Air frequencies are not as good as i would like but they do work. Did come with eu plug, but seller is sending US one. Scans memory channel fairly fast. You must establish a scan list in order for scan to work, max of two list. Wish display would stay on more than 5 seconds so I could see better, maybe a firmware fix later. Software provided is simple but worked, there is an item for an AM memory flag that must be turned on for each channel you program aircraft into or it will not work. This is not a $100 radio so don’t expect it to be.

Great replacement for the Baofeng UV5R!
Amazing unit for the price. Easy to program, and the added features are nifty, including frequency and CTSS scanning (look at the reviews on YouTube for elaboration). The sound quality is decent, certainly not perfect, but signal quality is good, power is up to claim, and the second harmonic, with the antenna on (not plugged in to the frequency analyzer!) is acceptable.Remember: the antenna is a filter. As regards air band: forget it. It sounds awful, since it isn't real AM on this unit.I am ordering some more of these. There is new firmware for the updated unit that even provides a spectrum scan. These are fun, well built, and inexpensive. They are the Baofeng for this decade, in my opinion.Five stars.

Programming
The radio was built very well, and seems to have a good battery life. My only gripe about this radio is that you have to program it with their software. You have to individually programmed each channel and there is no way to do multiple additions, deletions, etc. I prefer to use chirp for programming, but it is not supported at this time.

All there and in working order
Seems OK to me 5 star for what it is, talked fine and the receive seemed right on, clear on both TX/RX ,programmed by hand no issues. Didn't try PC Programme yet, 1 1/2 days so far so good. Seems like a decent build,

seems to be a good value for the price, but needs some improvements to really shine.
Pros:it's an inexpensive radio with capabilities seeming to be well beyond it's price point.* wide range of frequencies* small, comfortable in the hand.Cons:* programming the radio is a serious chore. manual programming via the handset is comparable to other handsets. This is where software programming (CHIRP) normally fills the gap. The software for programming this radio is absolutely horrible. Chirp support does not exist and is not planned. The 'official' software only exists as a windows application, but also runs fine (for me) on Linux via Wine. Every option/channel must be programmed individually by selecting and hand entering values into every individual cell on the data form. Software appears to be written for windows 3.1. It's just that bad. If you have existing channel configurations that you want to use, plan on spending significant amounts of time implementing those onto this radio. Maybe it's not so bad if you are NOT wanting/needing to import a similar channel configuration from another radio to this one.* There are some glitchy things when using/programming from the handset as well. If you choose a combination of settings that don't work together, the radio will just change something for you, or won't allow the setting: but also won't warn you. For instance, if you switch to VFO, and manually enter a frequency that is not natural to the scan step configuration, then the radio will round your intended frequency up or down instead of just tuning the frequency you specified. ie: with step = 25khz, enter a frequency of 462.530. The radio will NOT tune that frequency and instead will put you on 562.525.Hopefully this and other similar buggy handset behaviors will be resolved in the future with firmware updates.* The manual is better than some other Chinese radios, but instructions still can be self-referencing and unclear.

Great features for the price
The feature that I like the most is the ability to read the frequency and tone of any UHF or VHF transmitter that is within a few feet. Having AM on the aircraft channel is good but the audio quality is is about a 5 out of 10 and the reason for the 4 star rating rather than 5 stars. Very featured packed for $29.99 delivered. Shipping was good in that it arrived the first day of the delivery window.

Good radio
You install different firmwares, it’s a lot of fun. I use mine for Airband.
