Working to hold tall flowers of a New Zealand Flax upright. Use a half twist if on a vehicle.
I've been trying to manage a New Zealand Flax and its several meter tall flowers that are drooping heavily. I finally decided that a ratchet strap might do the job, and with another reviewer reporting it working well for a tree, I decided this would be worth a punt. So far it is doing the job, wrapped around the flower stems and the trunk of a nearby wisteria. I'd not used a strap before and found the instructions to be hopeless, so checked out some videos online and tested it out first around an item in the house. An interesting point that was only mentioned in one video is that truckers put a half twist in the strap to reduce vibration and extend the life of the fabric, so I'd do that if using on a vehicle. I wasn't sure how to release at first, but there are two spring mechanisms that operate the ratchet, and when both were pulled it unlocks the ratchet. It was then easy to release as long as there wasn't an excessive amount of the strap wrapped around the spindle. After learning how to use, this worked well and was a quick solution. How well it will last outside I don't know, but as long as it outlasts the flowers I'll be happy as the price point is very favourable.

Decent Ratchet strap
This is the first ratchet strap I've bought, so I'm not an expert. The materials used seem strong and everything well constructed. I found the instructions provided pretty well useless for a 'beginner' and it took me about 10-15 minutes of trial and error before I learned how to use it. I've included a couple of pictures that show how I made it work for me and have since found a couple of Videos on a well known platform that explain things well. I've now put the strap to test in earnest and can confirm that it works fine. In conclusion, I think the product is good for the price but have deducted a star for the very poor instructions supplied.

plastic bag tie for a woodchip extractor
I have 2 woodchip extractors for my DIY workshop. They came with a metal band tie which was difficult to fit and they always leaked slightly.Anyway one broke as i applied too much force to seal the bag.I tried elastic bands but they still leaked then i tried this strap and it worked .I think because it is flexible and follows the contours of the thin plastic opening much better than the original metal one .Also because it is flexible i think it applies an even pressure all around the opening stopping any distortion of the thin plastic shroud onto which it is attached .England

Solid and good value
Very sturdy and easy to use, more than enough banding, in fact had to cut down. Will more than meet the needs I have.

Not for me
I couldn't figure out how to use this item. The item itself is good quality but I had to put it in the bin & use another strap. I am sure it works fine but better instructions needed or a tutorial video would be useful.
