I really wasn't initially very happy at the cost of this kit when I placed my order but I am 100% happy with this purchase after receiving it. Well worth the price. Absolutely no complaints. Accurate (tapped) cuts and all the hardware needed. Complaints about a bad storage system are not evident in my purchase. Sturdy plastic case. All items individually wrapped and in very good condition. I think someone somewhere said that aluminum extrusion was the erector set for adults who build REAL and USEFUL projects. I could not agree with that explanation any more. I am VERY happy with this purchase.

I really love this product. I do a lot of 3D printing, but sometimes plastic parts just don't give you the rigidity that a project needs. This kit gives you everything you'll need to throw something together very quickly. And I especially like that the Makerbeam XL is designed to work with standard M3 nuts, so you don't have to worry about buying the (relatively) expensive T-slot nuts unless you absolutely need them. Unfortunately, the case I received was shattered in a couple of places. It still holds together, but I can't help but think that this could have been avoided with a bit more padding than the saran/bubble wrap combination that the case was wrapped in. I don't think my experience is isolated either, based on some of the other reviews I've read.

This kit is a great way to build out prototypes. I tried three iterations of a solution until I got it right. The tools in the kit are nice quality. Overall pleased with this purchase. The only gripe is t he price. Seems a bit inflated.

Really great value considering the number of different parts included. Beams are made with solid tolerances, tapped with m3 threads on the ends, which I found to be helpful. The connecting brackets are steel, unlike most brackets for 2020 extrusions, and are fairly low profile while being very strong and rigid. I found the ability to use regular m3 nuts in the slots to be very convenient. I recommend buying makerbeam xl cubes to supplement this kit.

The kit arrived in poor condition, the case for the parts was banged up, cracked and has holes in it. The parts are in individual packages so it's mostly a cosmetic issue. The kit was supposed to come with two tools, a hex key and a nut driver. In this instance I received 2 hex keys and no nut driver. This makes it difficult to actually assemble anything as the majority of the screws/nuts require the hex nut driver. Not the end of the world but not as listed either. Probably just an accident, but annoying none the less. edit - Makerbeam sent 2 hex nut drivers, thank you
