You can hold it still in your palm, and control the screwing with your fingers, the twist the hold thing to finish the job. It has a long, thin shaft. The yellow collar stiffly twists to control direction. Opposite twist of that to your desired direction. Hard to activate by accident, and a little hard to active intentionally also. Accepts the standard 1/4th inch bits, which secure by a VERY strong magnet with no locking function. Takes some force to get them out. Ratcheting is smooth, with a loud, metallic clicking sound. A little louder, and more metallic than most. The back ratchet is very light, easier than usual. Less likely to unscrew a less firmly planted screw. There is a little bit of lateral handle wiggle/slop, and some rotational wiggle also. About average for a good ratcheting driver. This is the second time I've bought this driver, I used the first one multiple times a week for a couple years until I recently lost it on a job site. I've been trying to make do with individual screwdrivers and some other multi bit screwdrivers like a Klein one I had laying around, but nothing comes close to how smooth the ratcheting action is on the vessel driver, and nothing compares to how comfortable the ball grip is to hold vs any other style of handle. Being able to pop the blade off the ball grip and use it as a stubby driver is a huge plus, as is being able to hold the ball grip in your palm and use your fingers to turn the blade itself when trying to start hard to reach screws without dropping them.
