A money saver that gets the job done!
After comparing prices for even one drywall repair patch, I decided to try this kit that had three different sizes of patches. I used almost all of them, and the sandpaper and the scrapers besides a putty knife. No problem sticking to drywall. One thing I observed: if I kept mudding over patch it never seemed to get enough because it kept showing through the mud. After a good coat of mud, I let it dry (you could still see patch). I sanded then applied more mud and sanded again. The patch didnโt show through the second time. I would definitely recommend this product.

Terrific quick and easy fix for jagged drywall holes
I had several holes in my drywall that were 2-4" in diameter size. They occurred after I had to remove drywall after my home was partly flooded. Rather than cutting a patch of actual drywall and taping and joint compounding it in place, I ordered a pack of these. They are WONDERFUL. The patch body is a very thin, but stiff piece of perforated aluminum. There is a 1" border of sticky fiberglass mesh that surrounds the patch. You just pick a patch size that the aluminum part covers the actual hole and press the mesh to the wall. I actually cut a couple of the patches in half to fit around odd angles and notched out where needed. You then need to more or less right away apply drywall joint compound (thin coat) to "glue it all down". The perforations in the aluminum allow the paste to penetrate and it covers very easily. I thinned the drywall paste with just a little water to help the consistency stick. After it is dry, you knock down any high spots with quick hand sanding and apply a final coat of drywall paste and let dry. I could not believe how easy and effective this solution is. I actually used it over an area of textured drywall and it stuck well enough to get the first coat on and then was able to match the texture with the final coat. The repair literally disappeared after painting.

The kit was what I expected. Was able to patch up the holes in my drywall, it had plastic and metal spatula and sanding block. The price was better than expected too. I am confident that I can complete my project with this product.

Solid Adhesion, Missing Spackle
The Bates Choice Drywall Repair Kit undoubtedly lives up to its promise of providing solid adhesion for patching up those unsightly wall imperfections. However, while the kit has its merits, it falls slightly short of being an all-inclusive solution due to a notable omission: the absence of spackle. The adhesion quality of the patches in the Bates Choice kit is commendable. The patches adhere well to surfaces, providing a secure barrier against cracks and holes. Their durability and ability to seamlessly blend into the wall's texture are definitely praiseworthy. Whether dealing with small dings or more significant punctures, the patches effectively hide the flaws and ensure a smooth surface ready for painting. The inclusion of sandpaper and a putty knife is a thoughtful addition, helping users achieve a professional finish. The sandpaper's grit is appropriate for achieving a smooth surface without causing damage to the surrounding wall. However, the aspect that leaves room for improvement is the absence of spackle. Many users would reasonably expect a repair kit to include at least a small amount of spackle, especially given the price point. Spackle is a fundamental component for filling in gaps, smoothing surfaces, and ensuring the patches adhere seamlessly. Its absence means users need to separately purchase spackle, which not only adds to the cost but also requires an extra shopping trip.

Great Price and Solid Product!
First and foremost as a painter we sometimes run into homes that are a complete disaster in terms of patching. Any local store youโre paying this price for maybe 2? I can say with certainty these work fantastic! Adhesive is only to secure patch while you mud it so clean the surface well or roll some primer a few hours before. Apply patch and skim coat mud, Let that dry. Sand it. Apply a finish layer of mud to blend in with wall and let dry. Sand. Apply a primer. 2 coats of paint and good as new! Anyone saying this product is bad is just not doing these steps so itโs user error.
