The exercises are well-structured and really help build the speed and accuracy needed for the test. This is the most useful practice set I've found. Definitely recommend to other parents! Great mental arithmetic 4 to test knowledge.
Mental arithmetic book 4 (Schofield & Sims) A friend recommended this book for maths practice for 11+. Great book to test knowledge - comes with a separate book with brief answers. Most important to go over the incorrect answers before moving on to the next test - as going over mistakes with your child & filling in gaps is crucial for 11+. Aimed at Year -4 kids. Book 5 for Year- 5 kids.

Brilliant resource for building confidence in maths
I bought this for my child who is in Year 5, and it’s been an excellent addition to their learning. The layout is very clear, and the questions increase in difficulty at a steady pace, so children aren’t overwhelmed. It covers a wide range of number, calculation and reasoning skills, all designed to get them thinking without a calculator. What I particularly like is the short, daily-style exercises. They’re not too long, which makes it easy to fit into busy routines, but they’re just challenging enough to stretch thinking. The answers at the back are helpful for parents too, especially if you’re not always sure whether the working-out is correct. My child has really gained confidence since using this book. It works brilliantly as extra practice for school topics, and it’s also useful in the run-up to assessments. Overall, this is a well-structured, no-nonsense maths practice book that does exactly what it promises. Highly recommended for Year 5 pupils or anyone needing to sharpen mental arithmetic skills.

BEWARE: No answers provided. Good set of questions
Like me if you are going to see ratings, reviews and some photos and order stuff, beware this book does not have answers to the question papers. If you need them, it is a separate book which you can buy!!! This is first, after having bought over 25 books of various companies to help my kid with his 11+. So except to spend time personally solving those questions to validate you kids work :-). Do think it's ridiculous that no answer keys are given. The quality of the questions itself is good. 36 questions cramped into one page, but that fine as it's supposed to be mostly mental maths.

Lots and lots of sums, word problems and conversion questions. Keeps the kids engaged and supplements school study. Also has self-tracker/performance tracker if you wish to keep track of your kid's progress. Good to build mathematics foundation for kids
