I received my upright roller April 10th. I was surprised that Elenker has my order still enroute? It's heavy duty and helps me walk upright as opposed to my non upright walkers. The left upper arm of my upper right armrest works great, however the right one wobbles a bit no matter how tight I make it. I gave the full five because I like the upright - it's easier to walk upright, it's the only one for up to 6'4" ( I'm 6'5" 260lbs). I look forward to hearing from Elenker (west cost company - I called). I suggest they use tappered screws that fill the openning with threads on the end that fastened into nuts welded into the piping - those eliminate any movement once tightened. I would use one from my regular walker, but the new chair piping is thicker.

I purchased this for my dad. His mobility is impaired and he has problems with balance. His wrists hurt from using a traditional walker. Because he has trouble moving his legs, he relies a lot on upper body strength to compensate. This is the third style we tried. Although the others were well built, the features weren’t a match for his specific needs. We discovered certain features were very important for my dad. The first was “non-skid” wheels. Some wheels are slick. Even when the walker has locked brakes, it can slide. This is dangerous for my dad when he uses the seat on the walker. It slides with locked brakes from under him when he is trying to sit down. The non-skid wheels on this model grip enough for him to use the seat. The second essential feature for my dad is the “sit-to-stand” handles on either side of the seat. He cannot use the upright arm rests to pull himself up. Those little handles are an absolute must for him. The third feature he appreciates is the hard cushioned seat. Some of the walkers have a softer sling seat. It is much easier for him to go from sitting to standing with a firmer base. The angled posts on the upright armrests are the fourth feature that made this one the best choice for my dad. This feature gives him a little extra elbow room when sitting and also when using the sit-to-stand handles. The other models we tried were also well made, but were not a good fit for my dad’s needs. I appreciate Amazon’s return policy. Stores have a limited selection of these and it is not easy for my dad to go all over town trying out walkers. Some reviews have complained the amount of the purchase for returns is credited back to your Amazon account. True. If you spend $200 on an upright walker and return it, you have a $200 credit with Amazon. That is fair. Once you return a new item, it is used and is devalued. I was embarrassed it took us three purchases to get it right. Normally, I do not write such extensive reviews. I hope pinpointing features we found essential will help others sort through ones that are important for them.

1. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because if you hit a wide crack in the sidewalk from any angle but direct, head-on, the 10 inch front castor wheel rotates 90 degrees and drops into the crack, pitching the support forward and likely resulting in a fall. This manufacturing defect could likely be overcome by making the front tire 16 inches instead of 10 - it would roll over gaps instead of falling sideways into them. 2. I am a 6'3" woman. The men my height found this equipmemt fit them just fine. However, males have much longer humerus bones than women. So, this was about 4 inches too short for me in hiking shoes (I'm likely 6'4" in hiking shoes). So, I had 6 inch extensions welded on the front, changed the back wheels to 16 inches, and had 3 inch extensions welded on the back legs of the frame at a cost of $250 US. However, I can now stand completely straight up and walk, and I no longer have to lean over to get support to relieve pressure on my lower back. Using a frame too short did not relieve low back pain and caused neck issues. 3. Because of the customization, I cannot attach brakes to the back wheels. Brakes would be nice at times. But I recognize the limitations of this equipment. 4. Finally, the reason I give this a 4 star instead of lower - I am free again! I can walk just about anywhere pain free! No more wheelchair. It is an absolutely amazing feeling! I'm up to about a mile a day now, still pain free. For me, this equipment absolutely works after modifications, and I anticipate many years of use.

Wow! This is a life saver! It helps me stand taller. All-Terrain helps me get over most areas. It gives me independence! I recommend it to anyone who needs assistance to get around, On Your Own!

My husband has severe neuropathy and needs leg braces to walk. He has used canes also in the past. I surprised him for Christmas with this upright walker. He was surprised when he used it for the first time that he was standing upright. He was thrilled. Special note he walks as fast as me now. The seat comes in handy to take a rest when no benches are available. He even took it on our cruise. The only negative was it wouldn’t fit through our cabin door. We had to collapse it and turn it sideways. One suggestion would be to make the wheels to turn sideways also cause it could roll that way through door. It was hard to lift and put in cabin. So many people have stopped him and ask him all about it. He could be a salesman. Only negative would be the price. Don’t know if average Joe can afford it. It is well worth the price to us. You will need a big trunk to fit it even though the arm brakes disconnect easily. Height is easily adjusted

While I own another Elenker upright walker for paved roads and bike paths, and it works well, I sorely miss walking on forest trails due to my very bad back. So, I bought this all-terrain walker as well, to get me back into the forest. First, the pros. It works ... sort of! The walker will roll on FLAT packed dirt, matted leaves and small gravel trails OK. You have to push a bit harder, but it rolls well enough. I am happy that using it, I can get back into some of my local wooded trails. It also does very well on paved roads, paved trails and cement sidewalks. Using it, I can stand up taller and straighter as I walk. The cons ... take more explaining. I'll list them one at a time: 1. The walker will NOT roll well on grass or bigger gravel, and it will NOT ROLL at all in loose sand or loose gravel. It is also a bit bumpy on regular dirt trails, but is tolerable. I wish the manufacturers had put some spring shock absorbers on the wheels. Maybe in the future! 2. You must be very careful and observant when using it on a non-paved trail of any kind. Its front wheels will not roll over any obstacle higher than about an inch. Sticks, rocks, tree roots and ruts in the trail higher or deeper than an inch, will bring it to a stop ... instantly. If you are prepared for it, no problem. Just lift it over the obstacle and keep going. However, if you're not prepared and it comes to a stop, your forward momentum will keep the walker moving forward but the wheels will stop, so ... you can easily topple forward, right over the walker. By so doing, you can literally fall on your face, breaking your nose, or possibly a wrist as you put your hand out to break the fall. It's not the walker's fault. It's just Physics. The good news is that if you scan your path every 20 feet or so as you walk, you will notice small obstacles and can avoid them or slow down when you encounter them. 3. The walker is heavier than most others. Closing it is not a problem but lifting it sideways into a car, takes more strength than an elderly woman or frail man may be able to negotiate. 4. The walker follows the laws of Physics, so when you walk using a trail with a slope, the walker will try to follow the downward slope and you will have to manhandle it to keep it straight on the trail. One trick is to use the brakes. Squeeze the up-slope brake as you walk and the device will turn a bit uphill, easing your effort to keep it moving straight on a slope. 5. The walker hates even minor slopes. Sloped trails erode fast from rain, so when you encounter a down or uphill on your trail, the trail with inevitably have eroded, and tree roots, sticks, rocks and ruts will be present, sometimes lots of them. Forget trying to push the walker through them. On one trail I tried for less than 1/2 mile, I encountered at least 60 - 80 tree roots, sticks and rocks on every slope, and had to lift and manhandle the walker over them all. I was exhausted and fed up when done. That's why I gave the walker only 3 stars. All-terrain it is not! It needs bigger balloon wheels, and/or springs on them to take some of the shocks and bumps. All in all, it is better than nothing, but I am disappointed it is not really designed for normal off-road trails.

The walker in nicely crafted. Easy to assemble and adjust. Service was easy to contact. When I had a little trouble with assembly they responded to my email after hours on a Saturday. It is possible to install the wheel tubes reversed. pay attention to the orientation of the wheel posts in the assembly video. The front tubes curve forward at the bottom.

Very good for taller people

It would be great if it was sent assembled since the chair folds. I’m submitting this comment because this chair will sent & used by people with disabilities & may need help with the assembly. In the ad for it that “assembly required”

it rolls so much easier than a regular sized rollator but can be tricky at the end of the driveway. You need to use the lower handles for that.

My 93 year old father hurt his back and needed to be standing and walking upright but his old walker made him hunch forward this new walker’s a game changer for him and the price is unbelievable for the quality he loves it.

You get what you pay for.
