Works great and easy installation
It took me about 15 - 20 minutes to install. Download the app and connect it easily. Actually, the fingerprint function works better than the one on my smart phone. Good price and a great lock.

Love this Smart Lock! Super Easy to Use and Great Customer Service Support!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to for this one. This Smart Lock with fingerprint and keypad is awesome! It looks beautiful on my front door; the satin nickel finish gives it a clean, modern look. Installation was a lot easier than I expected, and everything worked perfectly right out of the box. The fingerprint reader is super quick (no lag at all), and the app makes it really convenient to lock or unlock the door when I’m not home. I also like having multiple ways to get in fingerprint, code, key, or through the app; so I never have to worry about locking myself out again. I did call customer service because I was having issues with setting up the fingerprint option, and a lovey and friendly lady by the name of Isabella took the time and patience to help me step by step; she was amazing! You can tell they really care about helping their customers. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. The product, the design, and the service all deserve five stars. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish smart lock!

Almost perfect ...
The prior lock was name-brand and expensive, which started having random issues 6 months after purchase, and after a year it failed completely. Plus, it ate a lot of 9v batteries. This lock looked like the best replacement and had a large sale discount of 40% plus a $30 coupon, so we bought two on the same order. We did pay for the locks; we did not get it as a free item to review. It was exactly as it said, and the replacement was reasonably easy. But it did take me 3 hours due to the prior lock having been installed very poorly (a lot of damage to the door and frame), so I repaired that as best possible. Also, the inside and outside locks have a rubber insulator that comes off easily (and back on), which can be used as a guide to predrilling the holes. That's what I did, and it made it easy to be accurate. This lock works butter smooth and it has so many options for opening it. If you have multiple locks then you can set up the first one and there is an option to transfer the settings (the people with access) to the second lock through the app. The app uses Bluetooth, but they push the wifi option fairly heavily. We thought we had to buy the wifi to get phone connectivity, but decided to see if we needed the wifi box. if you are within about 6 feet of the door the Bluetooth option works fine. The app itself is ok, lots of setup options. But when there is an error (I tried to change the temporary code of a new person) and it fails with a simple "Failed" message. I tried again and then it failed with a more helpful message saying that I had to use the code once before changing it. Why can't it say that on the app at the time? There is little help nor description on the app itself about what an option does, and that is mostly fine but could be more helpful. What we liked most in the app was that the battery state is displayed, so no more guessing (the previous locks would work, until they didn't). The worst part of the lock is that the pictures on Amazon show a clear keypad, but it is covered in a darkly tinted glass. It looks nice, but we live in Texas and it is bright and sunny. We have a hard time seeing if the keypad is on, let alone the digits. Two of the people who posted videos showed that, but it is worse for us in the sun. The app issues are fairly minor since we mostly use the key-tags to open the doors. Overall, we are delighted and feel like we have great value compared to the name-brand locks we had.

Good features, performs well, fingerprint is great, but device auto-locks even if door is open
Overall I am happy with this smart lock, and would recommend it in spite of the flaw mentioned in the headline. The Veise smart lock was not difficult to install (it took 10-15 minutes), and the app has many features. All the features I have used function well, especially the fingerprint reader. The one time I contacted tech support (via email), they responded in a few hours. I did not try to call the tech support number, so I cannot comment on that. The smart lock can pair with a wi-fi gateway so that you don't have to be near to the lock to control it, but like all smart lock gateways I have seen, it does not work with the most modern 5 GHz wi-fi signal, so if you also purchase the wi-fi gateway, make sure your home router supports the older 2.4 GHz signal (most routers do), and that the distance between the gateway and the door lock is within 32 feet (9.75 meters). The fingerprint reader works 99% of the time and unlocks in about one second (much better than the Bosma fingerprint reader I used to have!). When fingerprint reader didn't work, it was because my finger was wet (a problem with all fingerprint readers), I removed my finger too quickly, or I did not position my finger correctly. The reason I gave this smart lock 4 stars instead of 5: the app has a setting for auto-lock after a set amount of time that the user can choose, but the device automatically locks even if the door is open. If it auto-locked only when it was closed, I would give it 5 stars. After looking in the settings of the app and not finding a way to auto-lock only if the door is closed, I contacted the company asking if it was possible if this was possible. They said it was not. On a positive note, their tech support responded to my email within a few hours. I was going to ask Veise if they could perhaps implement this feature, because in their app DDlock I saw in the settings something that says, "Door Sensor" that might seem to let the app know if the door is open or closed. And then I thought the name of the app, DDlock, seemed strange to me, why isn't the name of the app "Veise"? So I did a little research, and there is another company that makes this lock and the app, and Veise simply puts their name on it and sells it. This is *not* a bad thing, but buyers should be aware that Veise has no control over the features (or the bugs!) of the smart lock or the app.
