This watch hangs on a belt loop under my blouse and is very easy to read. I don't like wearing watches so this fits the bill nicely. I may buy another one someday, that's how much I like it. My husband likes it too, so I'm watching it closely to make sure it doesn't "disappear". As far as keeping time accurately, it's too soon to tell. Someday I will update with durability and accuracy. Update Oct. 14, 2015: The watch stopped working about a month ago and I'm trying to remove the cover to change the battery, with no success. It did keep very good time and was convenient, but alas, I now need a professional to replace the battery. Update Oct. 15, 2015: We found the battery for $4 and change at Rite Aid - Duracell 377 - (there are lots of places that sell it) and it took a whole day to install it (after struggling to get the cover off, insert the battery, and replace the cover). I credit my husband for persisting in his efforts to get this done. I first detached the leather holder with a dental tool (you could use a safety pin). To get the cover off my husband used a 1/8th" slim heavy duty screwdriver blade. Then, with a glove on, I delicately inserted the battery by sliding it under one side of the round holder, making sure the gold-colored metal piece sticking up was pushed down underneath it. My husband then placed the plastic piece in, making sure the notch went where the time stem was. Then he put cover on and made sure the tiny notch went where the time stem was. To put the cover on was sheer genius on my husband's part because he knows how to use tools very well. He took a 1 1/4" ID pipe about 1" long and placed the watch face in it (when he used pliers he scratched the chrome surface - doesn't recommend that approach). The he used a 4" C-clamp and screwed it on until the cover literally "popped". We don't believe that cover can ever come off unless a screwdriver is used, but I'll keep updating this if that ever happened. I am still giving this watch 5 stars because of its keeping time and holder and convenience, but as far as changing the battery - holy cow - probably a 1 star for that until you know how to do it. I thank my husband profusely for figuring it out. I'm not even sure a "professional" could have done this. I probably would have bought another brand of watch with a similar holder and put this away until my frustration with it went away.

This has been a reliable watch. I've worn it every day for months now. Keeps excellent time and has been reasonably durable. I even got the black one for formal occasions.

I don't really care to wear a wrist watch anymore, but I find that it is time consuming to pull out the cell phone every time I want to know the time. This is a great compromise. I wear it attached to a belt loop. When I sit down, the watch falls into a position which is easy to read, just by glancing down at my lap. I like a lot of what the Dakota company is producing now, but I am not a big fan of putting the LED light into the watch, as on other designs. This is a basic design, but it does have a second hand and the dots do glow in the dark. To get to the back cover of the watch, for battery changes, you remove the clip and the watch flips away from the backing tab, giving you full access to the back of the watch, without having to remove pins. This has the date feature as well. I'd prefer this had a leather tab, but the vinyl 'fake leather' looks OK. Overall, a classy design. Well built, for the price range. I definitely recommend it.

This is a pretty simple watch. Nothing fancy or too flashy, but it works well if you simply need to know the time or date. I've worn this on my belt loop for a couple of weeks now and I love it. It's too casual to wear with a suit, but it actually looks fine with cotton pants, a dress shirt and blazer. And it looks very nice with jeans and maybe brown leather shoes. The leather fob is what really makes this watch. It's pretty high quality leather, very sturdy, and looks like it will hold up for years. If the watch dies in the next 4-5 years (as many plain simple watches will do), it will be easy enough to put a standard Timex analog watch in its place. A last note, unless you're in a profession where everybody wears clip-on watches, you'll be in the minority wearing this at work and lots of people will notice it. Also, it's much easier than a wristwatch to take off at airports or any other security checkpoints and metal detectors.

I bought this wxact watch back in 2017. One battery change later and it's still going strong.

Watch and fob great! Very nice quality! The clasp was a disconnect, strange finish compared to the watch. Felt cheap compared to the rest of the watch!

The Dakota Leather Field Clip Watch has proved itself to be exactly what I had been looking for. As I've grown older the feel of a watch around my wrist has become annoying. A cell phone also provides accurate time, but unlike a watch it is not ready at a glance. To attempt to solve the problem I first tried a pocket watch and it proved itself to be just another lump in the pocket and as inconvenient as a cell phone to dig out. I decided to try the Dakota Clip watch. The price was right and and it looked attractive. For the past year the Dakota watch has hung from a pants belt loop in front of my pocket. It is quickly available at a glance - even while driving. Friends ask where I got it and offer compliments. The watch is lightweight, holds up to wear and tear, keeps good time, does not catch on anything, and my wrist is no longer aggravated by a watchband. After one year of use I will highly recommend this watch and guarantee that when my current Clip Watch wears out I will buy another.

I have had several Dakota fob watches over the years, and I nearly always wear one on my trouser belt loop, where it is easy to see, and removes the need to always wear a wristwatch. They are excellent, reliable watches, with a good action and clean, precise movement of hands when adjusting the time. When changing the time or date, I have found that it is best to raise the watch itself a little away from its leather holder, and use a small flat head screwdriver angled from behind the watch to move the crown to its outer stops. Saves your finger nails!

C’est ma 2e DAKOTA. Bien-sûr ce n’est pas une montre de luxe, mais elle est durable et donne l’heure exacte. C’est ce que j’attends d’une montre. J’en ai commandé une autre, j’ai encore ma 1ère depuis 3 ans, sauf que je la porte à la chasse et j’ai égratigné la vitre du cadran.
