Look Out for Mater! (Disney/Pixar Cars) (Little Golden Book)

Little Golden Books are great. I read them when I was a little boy, and now I'm having fun reading them to my five year-old son. Look Out for Mater! follows in Golden's tradition by teaching lessons to young minds while telling a fun story. Artwork is colorful and vibrant, and the story is long enough to capture a child's interest without boring them with long-winded storylines. As has always been the case with these Golden books, the front and back cover is made of cardboard, which is a much more solid construction than paperback books, which can easily get mangled, bent, and torn with rough handling. This book can easily be read to a 4 or 5 year old, but it's a bit advanced for these young readers to take on by themselves. Best to have an older caregiver read the story. The advantage is, each page has more words, which results in more time on each page. The disadvantage is, if a child is learning to read--as my child is--this book will be too complicated to read on their own. We collect a mix of books for our little one. Some are more complex, which I read to him. Others are level 1 or 2 books, which he can use when learning to read. If you're looking for fun reading material to read to your little one, or a fun book for a child who is already reading, you can't go wrong with any of the Cars Golden books. Look Out for Mater! is one Golden book. They're cheap, so if this interests you, I'd also recommend searching for others.

Cute little story about "Lighting aKween and Maer" as my son calls them. It is not necessarily one of the new-aged Golden Books with a few words per page, but it keeps him entertained and uses dialect just like Mater in the movie. The pictures are so cute and I love the almost water-color style painting which is less vibrant and overstimulating.

It is nice, my kid loves McQueen but for a bedtime story, that’s very very long. Hard to keep my 3 year old engaged after one or two pages

Big fan of all Cars and Lightning McQueen related things. Have 5 other Cars Little Golden books and this is more of the same: beautiful and charming artwork with a simplified story little ones can follwow and enjoy.

Bought for my 2 1/2 yr old great nephew and he loves it. He sits. beside me and listens to the story, pointing out his favourite "Queen and Mater". Recommend.

Good quality book for the price, for my nephew who loves mater, not many books for just mater but bought this one and another, very happy with them.
