Burley Travoy Compact Folding Cargo Bike Trailer

Good product

I love this trailer. I have it in shopping bag mode with the upper Market and Lower Market bags and also commute to work mode with Burley Travoy Upper Transit bag and the lower transit bag. I also take it as a foot passenger for a booze cruise and load it up with wine and beer and pull it by hand on and off the car ferry to France. I take it to the flower show at Hampton court. I have had this trailer for a few years now. Wherever we go on holidays with the bikes my Burley Travoy and Burley flat bed trailers go as well. I take it to the NEC Caravan and Camping Show, Excel London to the Grand Design Show. I fold it up and down all the time. The previous persons review, they must have had a faulty one. Saying that you can get spares easily for them and they are easily fixable. My trailer is well looked after stored in doors and I have never had any problems with both my trailers what so ever. I would buy them again and totally recomend Buley cargo trailers.

There are plenty of good reviews of this trailer on Youtube so go check them out before you buy. My personal experience 3 months in is that it does actually live up to the hype. In spite of being incredibly light and compact when folded the Travoy is capable of carrying a lot - around 30kg. This is more than you could sensibly put in panniers and beyond the weight limit of most racks. It's also very stable provided you keep the heavy stuff near the wheels (which the instructions say to do anyway). It even works well off the bike as a trolley. As a non-driver this is great for shopping and generally hauling things about. Only downside: The price. I won't deny it's expensive - arguably far more expensive than it should be. I got mine on a 30% discount and it was still a lot of money. At the same time, I'm not aware of any equivalent product to compare it to. In my experience most bike trailers are pretty poorly made and I guess the prices reflect that.

I've had mine for about a year now. I bought it because I have an allotment and wanted a way to carry my garden tools. I did loads of research, before taking the plunge. In itself, it's really good. However, It does take time to get to know how to fold and unfold (mine didn't come with a user manual). The videos on you tube are vital. Eg, the wheel push button is very stiff, the pull cord closes the base. Pros: very versatile, well made, quick wipe clean, fast clip on/off, quick universal coupling to any bike (I've used it on a brompton and a Trek), fold up to store (about the size of a large tote), quite light weight. You can easily wheel it like a trolly. Cons: there's no denying, it's expensive! However, I feel it will last. It came from Europe & took ages to arrive (thanks brexit), You can get cheaper trailers. I had to buy longer ties, the little ones it came with were too short - additional cost £15. The market bags are another £100, but I modified a boxy tote I already had. Ties can unclip REALLY easily, especially if you have an unusual shape load - you need to keep an eye on the back -bungee cord might work better. In conclusion: I am happy with my purchase, but It definitely has it's foibles - do your research and consider if this is really for you. Take time when it arrives to get to know how to un/fold, expect to break a nail or two in the early days as the mechanism is v stiff (especially the wheels and base).

This has to be the worst designed, most unreliable bike trailer you could waste your money on. Mine has less than 10 hours use and it is now impossible to open it from its packed-down state and is unusable. The design is fatally flawed and there is zero information from the makers on repair. I will never buy another product again from this company. They are a disgrace.

Im letzten Jahr benötigten wir eine neue, große Gasflasche in unserem Wohnmobil. Auf dem Stellplatz gab es keine Gasflaschen, die nächste Möglichkeit war ca. 5 km entfernt. Zu Fuß bzw. nur mit dem Fahrrad war ein Transport nicht möglich. Wir sind dann mit dem Wohnmobil dorthin gefahren. Wieder zu Hause habe ich mich nach einer passenden Transportmöglichkeit gesucht und bin auf den Burley Travoy gestoßen. Inzwischen nutzen wir den Travoy unterwegs, wenn wir mit dem Wohnmobil auf Tour sind, aber auch zu Hause für die Einkäufe. Das kompakte Packmaß sowie die unterschiedlichen Verwendungsmöglichkeiten haben uns voll und ganz überzeugt. Bei kürzeren Wegen auch schon mal ohne Fahrrad - als "Hackenporsche". Die mitgelieferte Kupplung ist schnell an dem jeweils benötigtem Rad angebracht. Wir haben uns verschiedene Taschen gekauft und mit den mitgelieferten Spanngurten sind auch andere Taschen und Kisten etc. schnell und sicher angebracht.

J’ai acheté ce chariot burley travoy pour emmener mes déchets verts à la déchèterie, à 3kms de mon domicile. Je l’ai accroché derrière mon vélo Brompton. Sur ce chariot j’y ai emmené 2 gros sacs de 300 l, remplis à moitié de tontes de pelouse, branchage, mauvaises herbes, que j’ai fixé au travoy avec des tendeurs (araignées et à double crochets pour moto) et les grands liens burley. Pas évident la première fois car j’avais trop rempli mes sacs. Je suis super contente de ce chariot. Je le recommande vivement. Je fais également l’acquisition de 2 sacs à attacher sur ce travoy, pour moi aller faire mes courses. À Vélo, avec ce burley travoy, tout est permis. Vive la liberté et seul. Besoin de personne. Juste ton burley travoy, ton vélo et ta force musculaire 👍 Merciiiiii

I needed a way to haul my ski gear to the ski resort about a mile away. This bike trailer was perfect for commuting to ski resort with my skis and snowboards. Highly recommend for any use, high quality and is holding up really well.

小径車のタルタルーガに装着。リアキャリア付きでも余裕で装着できた。サドルの位置が低すぎるとアタッチメント部分が平行にならない。地面に足をしっかりつけたい人には合わないかも。 新幹線を乗り継いでの遠出に利用した。大きさが気にならなくなるほど便利だった。新幹線内での置き場所には注意。置き場所の予約や荷物置きの近くの席をとったりと前準備をすべし。
