The quality is so-so. The screw holes weren't drilled evenly, making it a bit of a struggle to get the blade to lay flat when I was resetting it for a lefty. I eventually got it. It comes set up for a right hand but they took lefties into consideration, thank you! It cuts cleanly, evenly, and easily. It's a bit of a nicer cut than my bread knife due to the handle being offset, so no squish at all. Please, note- this is not a tool that gives measured slices. It makes clean, precise cuts. You'll want one of those slotted bread cutters for that if you're not good at eyeballing. It's very sharp and comes with a blade cover to preserve and protect. It's quite large and will be able to accommodate boules. This is not a must have tool for home baked bread but it's nice to have and inexpensive.

So glad I bought this. We’d been struggling to cut even pieces for homemade bread, especially my kids! I just love that this really helps you cut those even, consistent pieces. It helps our bread last longer. It’s easy to use, sturdy, and even comes with an extra blade and cover. I like that it has a cover so I don’t have to worry about anyone cutting themselves accidentally. It’s hot a homey feel with the wood which fits in to our kitchen. The handle is sturdy and feels good in the hand. Recommend for sure.

This makes cutting sourdough bread I buy much easier. It's different in that you have to watch it when you near the end so you don't mar the cutting board. I find the blade fit for task except that it can belly out, not being adjustable in stiffness, and you have to watch it or it will wander and you will wind up with a slice that is thin on one end. The serrations are big and it looks like they could be sharpened. I'm toying with the idea of replacing the blade someday with a hacksaw blade.

This was a great price for gifting! The loaf I tried it with had a very hard crust, so it was still a bit difficult to get through. I am sure it will be great for a normal loaf. The spurtle is my new go-to for everything! The storage pouch and blade guard are bonuses!
