Nice product
Easy to install and does a great job with blacking out light. I live on the top floor of an apartment and there is A bright light right outside my window to light up the parking lot.

Even blocks the Arizona sun!
This blackout curtain is AMAZING. We installed it in our bedroom in Phoenix, and it keeps the room dark & (relatively) cool even in the summer. The reflective side helps the heat stay out of the room, and the dark interior means it's great if you're stuck working graveyard shift. We didn't have to cut it since the size fit the window perfect out of the box, but the only issue we encountered was the strength of the adhesive on the velcro. But a few drops of super glue, and it stood up to the Arizona sun just fine.

Great for privacy!
I bought these because my blinds stick out of the window frame by over an inch. If I have my lights on at night, people can see inside. And I have neighbors that point cameras at all my windows. I put one way privacy film by Gila on my windows for daytime, and these shades at night. I turned my lights on low, with a lightbulb that is controlled by an app, and has a dial for light brightness and color. I walked outside and was surprised my windows looked like my window tint during the day-black. I had put the shades over the white blinds, so I thought I would see the white blinds. No, just the window tint. However, I did put black electrical tape around the frame of the shades. My frames are not flat. They curve inward toward the window, so when I was using just the velcro, light would peek in from the sides. So I put the tape around it. The windows I do open up during the day, I be careful when lifting up the shades and smooth it back down at night. I have tape on hand for touch ups as needed. I tried duct tape, black electrical. The duct tape pulled off some paint and wallpaper. The black wide electrical tape didn’t. I bought some of Amazon that were 2 inches wide. I think. I tried a less wide one from amazon, but it would tart to curl up. To put the shades up, I had the shades down, and I put two velcro pieces on top of it. Then the other side of those two pieces, I put it up higher on my window frame or the shade itself. So when I open up my blinds I don’t have to take off the entire shade. I just attach the lower part of the shade to the top of my window frame or shade, using velcro. Since I am just folding up the lower portion, the tape around the top remains intact. I don’t usually need touch ups. I did try the velcro that other people have bought separately and used, but when I removed the velcro completely from the window frame, it pulled of the paint-the sticky side. So I just use the included ones they give. Not as sticky, but no damage. I contacted them and they gave me more velcro within 2 days. Some of my shades are turned black outward, others silver outward. I put them over my blinds, but since I have window tint, all my windows look black, They don’t see my blinds, which are white. People can’t see in at all. They just see black. That was my main concern. I didn’t want people looking in at night. I would completely recommend this product for privacy.

Gets the job done. I’d say 80% darkness.
They get the job done. We still are not able to achieve total darkness but in the middle of an Alaskan summer we appreciate anything that gets the room a little darker. We have them underneath blackout curtains and a little bit of light still seeps through the top and sides but overall it has still made a huge difference for us. It was easy enough to set up but decided to just use little tacks to hang it as the Velcro wasn’t sticking well to our windowsill. All in all I think this is a great product for the expectations I had set for it. If you’re looking to achieve total darkness though this might not do the job.

Exceptional Inexpensive Solution
This works exceptionally well. I hesitated in purchasing because of some posted feedback. The comments about it being shipped folded versus rolled does create significant and visible fold lines. Simple solution is to use a steam iron with a thin cloth in between. I originally bought the black thinking black would work better than white for goal of blackout - white works just as well and is more internally appeasing. The Velcro sticky pads are what they are, just improvise. Product is great and an inexpensive option.

Quite messy looking.....
These do block out the light. Unfortunately, its not a nice, smooth piece of fabric as the picture implies. It comes folded, so when installed, it looks horrible from the outside. I'm using it in an attic window and may just take it down if it doesn't smooth out because it looks so bad from the outside!

Not today sun
Summers in Arizona are BRUTAL. You basically pray to the aircon gods to make sure they don't break down every summer so you look for anyways to help block the sun beating down into the house. These blackout 'curtains' did a great job this summer and they have been stored away to use next summer. I would recommend thse as they were easy to install and kept the sun out
