Triple vinyl LP pressing. 2010 release from 14-time Grammy-winning producer, writer and performer Kanye West. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy includes Nikki Minaj, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver on the smash street single "Monster" and Pusha T on "Runaway" which received the Best New Music stamp from Pitchfork. Other guests include Kid Cudi and Raekwon and contributing producers include RZA of Wu-Tang Clan, Pete Rock, and Q-Tip. The album was recorded in Honolulu and at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Review: The Penultimate Kanye West Album - Kanye West is undoubtedly one of the most unapologetically honest rappers to ever pick up a microphone. He knows what he is and what he's doing and as such, produces some of the most self-aware and truthful music in the industry. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the penultimate Kanye album in a long line of already highly competent albums and one of the best albums of 2010. This is the ultimate realization of the themes that have shaped his music career. Materialism, rejection, love, loss and sadness, MBDTF has a very dark overtone about it and the more you listen to it, the more you begin to feel as though you're delving further and further into West's subconscious. Similar to 808s and Heartbreak, Kanye lets it all hang out. He's unrelenting, unconcentrated and strangely focused. Like an expert sniper, he zeroes in on his target and strikes with precision. There's no nonsense, just an unfiltered display of raw emotion. Lyrically, this is Kanye's strongest and most consistent work yet. Where he showed glimpses of greatness on the track Gone from his second album, Late Registration, he now seems capable of replicating that level of lyricism across an entire album. The level of depth and complexity in his rhymes has exceeded that of any other album he's released so far. Kanye's greatest asset in my eyes is how self-aware he is and it shows in his rhymes, such as in the song Gorgeous in which he says "I'll choke the South Park writers with a fish stick". This line sounds appropriately cathartic within the tone of the song itself. Guest appearances are also excellent, demonstrated best on the feature heavy tracks Monster and So Appalled. Jay-Z is as lyrically potent as one would expect from such a veteran in the industry but it is Nicki Minaj that surprised me most on her verse on Monster. She outshines both West and even the venerable Jay-Z in her performances, playing with many differing lyrical and vocal styles in her just over a minute long verse. I was very impressed and I saw for the first time why she has been surrounded with such a great amount of hype in her short career. In terms of cohesion, this is one of the most well put together album I've heard in years, second, at least recently, to Janelle Monae's The ArchAndroid. Each track flows logically from one song into the next. Layered perfectly, building on the foundation of the song before it but still sounding fresh. The album's title almost perfectly reflects the music contained within it as you really get a sense that this has come from the darkest recesses of Kanye's subconscious and is reflected in not only his and his guest's lyricism but the production behind it. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is an amazing album that really comes together in every way. It's the most consistently brilliant, cohesive and lyrically impressive album Kanye West has released since 2005's Late Registration and is easily one of the best albums released in a year that was already quite good for great album releases. It remains to be seen whether or not Kanye West can top himself with his next album going forward but based on what he has done here, he seems perfectly capable of pulling it off. Review: The best ever - The greatest hip-hop album of all time. Devil in a New Dress is a masterpiece

Worth the price
If you can, buy this, one of the best albums ever in one of the best vinyl presentations ever, only problem is that it is kinda annoying having to flip and change the records so frequently, but other than that, it’s totally worth it and overall an incredible piece of physical media, the sound quality on these is surreal and there’s not a single skip

A masterpiece that still defines modern hip-hop
Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010) is widely considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time, and after years of listening, I can confidently say it still holds that crown. This is Kanye at his most ambitious—pulling together rap, soul, rock, orchestral arrangements, and experimental production into one seamless project. Highlights: Dark Fantasy – cinematic opener that sets the tone with grandeur and ambition. Power – one of Kanye’s most iconic tracks, with a booming beat and unforgettable hook. All of the Lights – layered with multiple features and complex instrumentation; still sounds huge today. Monster – raw and aggressive, featuring one of Nicki Minaj’s career-defining verses. Runaway – 9-minute emotional centerpiece with haunting piano and one of Kanye’s most vulnerable performances. Blame Game & Lost in the World – both bring experimental, genre-bending energy that few artists could pull off. Production & Sound: Every track feels like a carefully constructed epic. The production is lush, maximalist, and timeless. From orchestral strings to distorted synths, from soulful samples to layered vocals, the album is a masterclass in sound design. Impact & Longevity: Even over a decade later, MBDTF still sounds fresh and innovative. Many artists have tried to chase this level of artistry, but few come close. It’s not just an album—it’s a cultural moment that continues to influence music today. Final Thoughts: If you want to experience Kanye West at his peak creative power, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is essential listening. It’s more than just an album—it’s a cinematic journey, equal parts vulnerable, brash, and genius. A true modern classic that belongs in everyone’s collection.

Unlike most hip-hop vinyl made today !
I can say from experience buying vinyl over the years that not many Hip-hop artists go out of there way to put something together like Kanye did with this Vinyl release.I mean most of the time you just get a couple records thrown in sleeves and your lucky if it comes as a gatefold (especially with Def Jams releases). Yeah, its somewhat pricey although for all that included it's well worth the asking price. That is if you can still even find it without the inflated price. First off its limited edition (supposably). I've also heard rumors that its going to be remastered and repressed, but that's yet to be seen, and I think it would take away from those purchasing it thinking that it was limited in the first place. There is also no idea exactly how limited it is, but I think those that really want this on wax will still be able to find it for a while ? The outer red cardboard sleeve is beautifully done with the see through center and gold printed ink used throughout, which looks to be screen printed. It folds open nicely. I don't think this really needed to be pressed on 3LP's as I think it would have all originally fit nicely onto a double. The added artwork is frameable and yes its censored. I've noticed many giving negative reviews on amazon because of this, but this had to be Kanye's decision and seriously how many of us are actually going to frame these anyways? It was also shown on the items description pic to still be censored, and I think if it wasn't we would have been made aware before buying from one source or another. The vinyl sounds great on my heavy duty 1978 Pioneer PL-560 and much better than the MP3 download i previously purchased on amazon while it was available on the cheap. With the resurgence of vinyl sales its nice to see that there are still a handful artists willing to think outside of the box when it comes to release on the vinyl format. If you're a fan of what many said is the best release of 2010 and a collector of vinyl than I would recommend you pickup this release!

Musical Genious???One of the best artist in hiphop....Yes!!!
Let me start out as saying no I don't think this is better than Late Regristration (his best album) no, but it his Second best album. MBDTF is well put together I think its great that he and the other producers who worked on this album blended all the sounds he used on his previous works. I love the fact that this album has theme that revolves around excess and celebrity. I read some of the reviews and what I see the most is that people are saying he needs to go back to making music that sounds like his first two albums. He shouldn't because he if he kept putting out music that sounds the same. Yall would be saying all his work sounds the same and that he needs to try something new. Another thing that most of his critics say is that his lyrics are inconsistent because he will say something thats pretty dope then the next few lines aren't up to par. Now I am not saying that he his own the level as Lupe Fiasco and Nas (Just to name a couple), but even the greatest lyricist in the world can give you something amazing on every line for that matter on a whole album. So when Kanye says something like Penitentiary chances, the devil dances and eventually answers to the call of Autumn all of them fallin' for the love of ballin' got caught with 30 rocks, the cop look like Alec Baldwin inter century anthems based off inner city tantrums based off the way we was branded face it, Jerome get more time than Brandon and at the airport they check all through my bag and tell me that it's random but we stay winning, this week has been a bad massage I need a happy ending. I think its pretty creative. Only a handfull of rappers can top that. When it comes to putting out good music Kanye is great at it From College Dropout to MBDTF its all been quality music. Remember Rolling Stone named him artist of the decade(2000-2010) for a reason!!!

His Best Yet!
A solid portion of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy earned its premiere on YouTube in the form of a half-hour music video for the single "Runaway." Opening the album with the same song as the video, titling it "Dark Fantasy," Kanye gives the first words to a female narrator, a fallen phoenix. With a choir of oohs and aahs in the background, she says "you might think you've peeped the scene. You haven't, the real one's far too mean. The watered down one, the one you know, was made up centuries ago. It made it sound all whack and corny. Yes, it's awful, blasted boring. Twisted fiction, sick addiction, well gather round children, zip it listen!" A grand piano chord quickly follows this short narrative and so begins Kanye's latest epic production. Kanye is no stranger to grandiose compositions. Even his debut album, The College Dropout, had nearly an hour and twenty minutes of music with standout tracks like "Jesus Walks" paving the way for a new generation of artists. However, never before has Kanye blended so many genres of music together or taken so many musical chances on one record. Even a simple glimpse at the guest list is enough to make the heads of fans spin. Elton John, Chris Rock, Rihanna, Fergie, John Legend, Kid Cudi, Rick Ross and Jay-Z all on the same album? Bon Iver on a hip hop record? If there was ever any question as to how this could all work, a single listen to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is all the proof you'll need. Although the entire album has an unquestionable flow that keeps every song fresh and intriguing, there are two tracks on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy that truly capture what Kanye West has built his career up to. The first is "All of the Lights." Complete with its own cello and piano interlude, "All of the Lights" throws an entire brass section into the mix and allows Rihanna as many if not more of the featured vocals in the song. Although strings and brass have all been used within the realm of hip hop before, the stylistic blend between classical, fanfare, and club worthy beats in less than a minute feels natural and effortless on "All of the Lights." The second feature track is, appropriately, the lead single "Runaway." Opening with a minimalist piano part similar to the end of Nine Inch Nails' "Closer," Kanye takes the listener on a six minute journey with some astute lyrics of self-reflection. As the beat abruptly ends and leaves the piano on its own once again, one may think the track has finished, but an additional 3 minutes of deep staccato strings behind a vocoder solo offer proof of Kanye's desire to push the boundaries of acceptable singles in today's pop culture. Kanye West is not perfect. You know it, he knows it, and we all know the media exploits his imperfections to no end. Sure, he made a fool of himself on stage when he stole the spotlight from Taylor Swift at the VMAs. Yep, he sent a racy photo of himself to a woman that ended up on the internet. OK, his last album, 808s & Heartbreak, put a few nails in Auto-Tune's coffin, but like him or not, he's a visionary and a musical mastermind. With three phenomenal albums, The College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation, already under his belt, Kanye West enters his second decade of musical production with his best solo release yet. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has once again upped the standards of rap that he himself set. Similar Artists: Jay-Z, Dr. Dre Track Suggestion: "All of the Lights"

Please don't Runaway
Well I must reiterate what the masses have already stated and that's that this is an outstanding album and that Kanye West has really outdone himself with My Dark Twisted Beautiful Fantasy. He went all out with this one with unique sounds everywhere, elaborate bridges, strange yet all too fitting and appropriate guest features, etc. etc. One thing is for sure and that's Kanye West seems to reinvent himself after every album. For the past year people were asking the "Where Are You Yeezy?" and his answer was that he was cooking up a classic that will undoubtedly define his career and cement his legacy as one of the greatest producers and rappers of all time. Sometimes we as fans don't appreciate or quite understand what is happening with artists until they leave for good but it is a great thing that Kanye is getting the recognition he deserves. It's tough to pick a favorite song but All Of The Lights is about as good as it gets but I'm also loving Devil In A New Dress...the breakdown in the middle of the song is sheer beauty and Rick Ross delivers a grandiose verse like only he can. Runaway also is as ambitious as it gets with its vocoder and breakdown near the end of the song. I'm trying to go easy on the superlatives but that's a tough task. This album right here flows along seamlessly with each song having its own distinct sound and personality yet it all comes together perfectly in an album format. Before this album I was prepared to let Janelle Monae runaway with that album of the year title but now with MDTBF and Lady Killer I must strongly reconsider these thoughts and truthfully there have been plenty of great albums this year. Kanye has released perhaps the biggest album of the year in terms of its impact and anticipation and the music lives up to the hype. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy creates its own mood and atmosphere and pulls you into his world. If you are any type of music fan there's something on here for you. Highly recommended.
