Some lampshades come with a European fitting ring that is too large for UK bulb holders on lamps. These reducer rings fit immediately above and below the shade ring and make the shade suitable for the smaller UK bulb holder. If this explanation doesn’t help then try asking the seller.

I fitted mine to a table lamp as the fabric shade was EU size and the ring makes it fit my UK size lamp. The reducer ring is quite strong so I think it would depend on the weight of your glass shade. They don’t cost the earth so would be worth a try.
