Love this volleyball!
I don't understand all of the negative reviews. I love this volleyball! This is ment for fun family or casual recreational play. Yes, it's not the volleyball of the olympics, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted a volleyball that we could play with for hours without getting red whelts on our wrists. Score! Some of the reviews on this pattern and others had me concerned that it would feel like hitting my son's rubber bouncy ball. Not at all. Feels like hitting a regular volleyball but with less pain. As a non professional but recreational volleyball player, I recommend this ball for fun casual play.

Soft volleyball that is great for beginners
We started playing volleyball and were getting hurt using a regular ball. This ball is much softer. Key is to not overinflate it. At normal air pressure, this is very soft and easy to use especially for younger kids. I would buy this ball again if ours goes bad.

My 10 and 13 yo girls do not experience any pain from playing with this ball
I gave it 5 stars, because I bought this ball for my girls and it's perfect for them. Its "Squish no-sting" name is a good description of this ball. The price is relatively inexpensive. I play volleyball for recreation on a weekly basis at the indoor gym, so I prefer the official balls. At first, I actually purchased a $60 Tachikawa SV5W Gold ball, but it was too hard for them. I would purchase another one when this one wears down.

Very soft and kids are not flinching when learning to pass
Overall, I would still purchase the Volleyballs again as my kids like the softness and no sting aspect of these balls. On the downside, because the outside of the balls are very soft it is very prone to gouges. When I peel the inspection sticker from the ball it also left a noticeable mark on the surface seen in the second photo.

Excellent soft volleyball!
Really glad I finally found a beach ball that is soft enough to play and not hurt! Will be getting lots and lots of use out of this ball. I do wish it was available in better color combinations, though.

Great soft ball for beginners
Our daughter (9) just started playing and she loves this ball. We take it to practice and all the girls want to use it. I have not had any issues as of yet.

It is definitely much easier on the arms than a normal ball.
I have been playing for over 25 years... I love this ball. It is so much softer than a normal ball BUT the weight is about the same. I like to warm up with it and use it to play with kids who are just learning the sport.

Not for formal indoor game play
I brought both the Mikasa squish VB and the Tachikara Zebra in order to compare them side by side. Have to say a bit disappointed. Both balls are for recreational play only, they're not up to spec. in term of air pressure for indoor gameplay (around 4.5 lbs) Zebra can be inflated to 4 lbs and Squish can only be inflated to 3 lbs. As the result zebra is a bit more bouncy than Squish. Both balls weight roughly 9 oz inflated. Squish has a glued panel construction and Zebra has a stitched panel construction. Squish looks more round than the ridged look of Zebra due to the construction. Both balls have about the same touch for upper hand pass. On hitting and digging the Zebra feel more squishy like the beach volleyball and the zebra feel more like the indoor volleyball but this difference probably due to the air pressure. I don't feel sting from either balls but I am not the measuring yard stick and "feel" is subjective. Both balls cost about the same and should do fine for rec play.
