WOW!
I just replaced my Energy Veritas ESWv10 that I have owned for the last 12 years with this Klipsch sub. The Energy sub played down to 23hz, was very accurate and cost me $800 new. When I was doing my research for a replacement, I didn’t want to break the bank in replacing it with a comparable sub that now costs about $1800. After doing some comparisons on subwoofers across many brands, I settled on this Klipsch RP1200sw. I am extremely glad that I did. I normally don’t talk about the unboxing experience and how well something is constructed. However, I must say that there were many things that made me step back and appreciate the details. 1st, the grill is no off the shelf piece of plastic. It is the most sturdy, well built grill I have ever seen. 2nd, the feet are a different approach. I would assume they are designed to decouple the sub from the floor. 3rd, the controls on the back had a great feel to them and I felt as though they did not skimp on the details. Lastly, just looking at the driver and how thick the surround is and how deep the center of the cone is, made me believe that this sub is going to move air and play deep. Concerning the sound quality, this sub exceeded my expectations. The sub is fast and accurate. It’s not boomy or a one note wonder. When listening to music, it blends extremely well with my towers and plays notes on tracks that I didn’t know were there. When listening to movies, this Klipsch sub shines. It plays much lower and is much more impactful than my Veritas sub. I would love to hear how the rp1600sw sounds like but the rp1200sw is more than enough for me.

This sub shakes my entire house!
I was torn between getting the 12" or the 14" sub. I finally settled on the 12, and I figured I could add another eventually when I move into a bigger place. I'm glad I went with the 12", it's huge! The 14" would have been too big. And as I found out, it would not be necessary. After I installed it, I thought it was defective at first because I wasn't hearing it with Spotify on my PC, which caused me to turn it all the way up. I then decided to test it out with a T. rex scene from Jurassic Park and forgot to turn it back down lol. It startled the crap out of me and had me scrambling for the volume. It was the type of bass you can feel in your chest. Coming from a 15-year-old 8" Monoprice sub, I was floored. I'm no audiophile or subwoofer snob, but to me, the bass sounds clean and powerful. My living room is roughly 15'x20', with 12' ceilings and only a half wall between the kitchen. This sub fills that space and then some. While the movie was still playing, and the sub was now turned down to 7, I could easily hear it outside in my shed. I'll need to be careful with it at night because the neighbors will definitely hear it. Shipping was a bit tricky for me. I travel most weeks for work, and I was given a 4-day delivery window, which landed on a Friday. I wasn't worried about it sitting on my covered porch because I have a privacy fence around it, I have a camera, and I live in a sort of rural area. When I checked the tracker with UPS I noticed it said signature required. I attempted to pre-sign for it, but it still said signature required the next day. I tried changing the delivery to Saturday, but was unable to. After calling UPS, I was told the seller, ListenUp, opted not to allow pre-signing or changing the delivery dates, and that I would need to contact them to change it. I contacted ListenUp about this, but I was told they were unable to change it because it had shipped, which isn't true according to UPS; they can change it while it's in route. After I told them this, I only received a generic response basically saying we're too busy to give you a real response (I get it, it's the week after Black Friday). I arrived home yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to find it sitting at my door. Either ListenUp figured out how to change it, or the UPS driver said to hell with loading this thing back up lol.

Wow! What a subwoofer!
It's large. Much larger than expected. A little too big for my small room to keep in the open, so we opted to place it behind the projector screen (120") and face it parallel to where we sit. No problems with the sound what-so-ever. Playing Jazz sounds amazing as we are hearing and feeling like there is a stand up bassist in the room. Rock music is confident and bass drum driving. R&B music you can feel in your chest. Electronic Dance Music melts you away. Watching movies on the dedicated LFE (Low Frequencies Effect) shook the house with a gain setting of 6.5. It scared the daylights out of my Wife...good times! The subwoofer is paired up with a set of Polk Reserve R100. At first, I didn't realize how good this base was until I compared it to the subs my local Best Buy had. I purchased a DN10 (wanted to try the DN12, but not available in my area), SVS SB-3000, and this sub to my ear outperformed all of them, easily. Even the higher end Subs like Bowers & Wilkins, KEF, etc., didn't come close based for my subjective hearing. Long story short, we're running this through a Marantz 70s and wow, we are impressed; It seems to be a great all around sub, extremely well done with a massive foot print compared to most subs.

Worthy! Powerful and Clean.
This replaced my great ENERGY sub I have had for years. Moved that to another room. New home has a huge Living room and wanted it to fill it better. I have top of the line speakers and needed something to pair well with them. This sub ( I had originally purchased the 12 in Premier standard 400 w ) and it was fine.. then I saw this one on sale 2 days later and had come down from $1k making it just 200 more so I made the jump. SO GLAD I DID!! Music and movies are even more outstanding! Be warned! The other one I carried from my Vehicle and put it in place. Even the young delivery guy couldn't carry this one. IT WEIGHS! Totally worth every penny if you want the real deal!
