200 worms in a ball
The worms arrived quickly and were packaged well. In the shipping box was a black cloth bag. Dumped the worms back into the box to get a better look. Worms are small, but seem happy and lively... and all are alive. I distributed them over my small gardens and they immediately started burrowing. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Compost Worms
I enjoy the farm that sends these worms. I am not a fan of touching the worms, but they have given my soil new life...literally. I live in a region that has clay like dirt and it's very hard and unforgiving. Fortunately, the worms break it up and I don't have to buy additional dirt for my container garden. The worms are shipped live with instructions on how to acclimate them to their new home.

Excellent Customer Service
I ordered these by mistake - completely my fault! Although my search criteria was "earthworms" (hoping to get worms I can just add to my indoor greenhouse garden), the only worms that come up are composting worms. I wish amazon would provide a delineation between exact search results vs similar results. Either way I reached out to the company on a Sunday explaining my situation and to please help; I wasn't prepared to set up a home for these little critters. They responded w/in an hour with several suggestions. I had a few more questions and they responded again! I was not expecting to hear from them until monday. They asked for my order number and then gave me a courtesy credit which I did not ask for. This exceeds my expectations! I have since setup a little home for them and when I poured them out, all were super healthy and alive! Highly recommend for your compost bin - thanks Worm World!

Only got about 5 1/2 worms
I ordered these worms as a way to kick start my composting. Unfortunately, when I upended the bag and spread the dirt, I found only a handful of worms in the soil. I counted 5 live worms and half of a dead worm. The package was opened approximately 4 hours after receiving it from the carrier, as per instructions (which are well written and thorough). Soil was loosely packed in a cinched cloth bag and well cushioned. Frustrated, I added the wigglers and soil to my compost and counted it as a loss. I am going to resort to hunting for wigglers when weather allows to supplement.

Not as advertised* UPDATE*
This delivery of worms looked nothing like the advertised picture. 100 worms were more like 50. Very difficult to find in the packing soil. Very small. Most seemed dead and the others very inactive. I would not ever buy these again. I can't return them now because they are scattered in the garden. I would not recommend at all. Very disappointed with this purchase.UPDATE------After my one star review, worm world reached out to me to make things right. They sent me another order. The worms looked healthier and there were more. They still weren't too active, but I guess that may have to do with the current temps and shipping. I appreciate them for reaching out to me and trying to make things right. I would order from them again since I know their customer service is good.

Red worms for composting
The worms arrived alive and healthy. They are still doing their job and eating all the organic material from kitchen waste. This is a good seller and I have no issues at all. 2 pointers I have. Keep the container of the compost closed tight or they will crawl out. Bury the food scraps under the surface and they will eat it.

Worms Alive But Extra Critters?
The 100 worms I ordered set off from a neighboring city and took a trip to Puerto Rico before coming to me about a week later, but they seemed still to be doing quite well and alive. This is my 2nd time trying to set up an indoor worm bin, the first time my worms died when I was drying out the bin to try and kill off fungus gnats. So this time I was extra careful with setting up the bin to make sure the conditions weren't too moist, the bedding has no other critters, and tried to err on the side of underfeeding. It's been a week and so far the red wigglers seem to be doing fine, didn't seem to have really touched the tea leaves I added on the first day, but were moving around slowly and seemed healthy. But I noticed today that there was a tiny white bug that might be a mite or springtail, as well as tiny white worms that were probably potworms. After battling fungus gnats for the past half year, I'm very wary of other creatures being in my indoor worm bin... and I'm pretty sure they came from this order... so I'll keep an eye on this and update this review with whether or not the extra critters become an issue.
