Very pleased that this is a good quality collet which fits the router and 1/4 inch bits with no issue

I have become more expert with my router table that incorporates a Triton Router and therefore now feel qualified to comment on the quality of this genuine OEM collet. Given you are working at speed with very sharp router tools, i would only recommend using the original manufacturers items. This was purchased for a specific heavy duty router task and it has been outstanding. It is fit for purpose in every detail and is balanced correctly for the router. Comes in a great router container and fits perfectly. It has been used for almost 12 months now and is excellent. Don't be tempted to purchase a cheaper non original manufactured part, it may damage your router, a router bit, or worse, you. Highly recommended.

Absolutely perfect but the price is ridiculous

Thought I could use my Elu/DeWalt collets. No. I find it amazing that a router sold in the UK comes with an 8mm but not a 1/4" collet. I have never seen 8mm shanks in my life. I have a collection of 1/2" and 1/4" and ONE 6mm HSS with 1/4" sleeve adapter, should throw it. Rant over, this is well made and works.

It’s disappointing that the TRA001 comes with 1/2” and 12mm collets. 1/2” and 1/4” would have been much more useful. Having upgraded to a 1/2” router, I still have many 1/4” router bits with plenty of life in them. This TRC140 allows me to use them. It uses the same spanner as the 1/2” collet and it works much better than my previous 1/4” router. The jaws stay captive within the housing so there’s no chance of losing parts. It comes in a nice box which I use to protect the collet that I’m not currently using. The unlocking seems to occur in 2 stages. You loosen it initially and you are then able to unscrew it with your fingers for a couple of turns. Then it tightens up again had you have to use the spanner again. Once you loosen it for the second time, the router bit can easily be removed. With my previous router, it was difficult to remove the bit even when it was fully slackened off. I highly recommend this router collet

What can I say? It’s a collet. The original shouldn’t have failed, and replacements shouldn’t be so hard to find. Amazon beibg the last resort.
