Best of the bunch!
To start off, these are my true opinions and I was not compensated or given any discount, just want to help those out there trying to find a quality lift-top table. This table is the real deal. I looked at dozens of lift-top tables on Amazon and other sites trying to find the perfect one. Some had a too small lift top, some were in the wrong place for me, some didnt have storage other than under the lift-top... Then i found this. I just finished assembling it, and I can say despite the horror stories i've read about putting together these type of tables, this one was very simple. It took about an hour and a half (it does say two people should do it, but I had no issues by myself, although it may have gone a bit faster with a helper), and nothing was overly difficult... Just follow the directions and you're fine. Here's where this table shines for me: -It isn't overly large, but it is bigger longer than most of the tables in this price range, and a bit taller, but not too tall! -it has a nice amount of open storage for me to slip my laptops under, and the closed door storage is a plus also! (And you get a ton of space underneath the lift-top) -It's solid... Mdf, but doesn't feel flimsy, and the wood grain laminate looks really good. The Metal frame adds a nice look and sturdiness also. In all, a great purchase and great value. Is it solid wood? No, but i wouldn't expect that at this price; you'd spend upwards of $1K fpr that - this table is a great balance of affordability and quality. As for cons, I really can't think of any right now, it is exactly as described and what I was looking for, and assembled easily. I know I had a hard time choosing a table when looking, and took a chance on this one even though it only had one less deatailed review, so hopefully my review helps you make your decision!

Lift Top Coffee Table
I love this table and all of the storage it provides. I have more room in my living room to walk now. I use it has a computer desk, a dining table and just a coffee table. Now I don't have to use my portable laptop desk. It took me quite a while to put it together. The instructions could have been a little more thorough with better illustrations. But I made it through, got it done and I'm using it right now. When you open it to use the desk, you'll definitely need to use both hands to pull it up and to let it down, especially if you have things sitting on the table top and the weight is uneven or anything of that nature. I was hoping the drawer would be on the desk side, so I could use it without having to walk around to the other side. It would have been more convenient. Other than that, I love this coffee table. I can always work around the little things. I definitely recommend it. Oh and I only had myself to put it together and I'm female, disabled and close to 59 years old. If I can do it, anyone can do it. I took a lot of breaks and I yelled several times, but I got it done.

Great product, assembly not for beginners
I’ll start with the product itself: * the main reason I wanted this coffee table was to de clutter the space. The first photo is what the area looked like with our old coffee table and the second is the new. It’s a pretty big difference and I’m really happy with it! *the entire thing is very sturdy, but the lift top isn’t. It wobbles some going up and down so anything that could fall will have to be removed for raising it Now for assembly: I would say I’m fairly good at putting things together like this but if you’re not you may want to have a handy friend with you. *Assembly time for me was 2 hours on my own *I would recommend using some of your own tools, more on that later Things I learned putting the table together: 1. The instructions are NOT inherently clear. Do not rely on the shape of each part to assemble correctly. Some parts that are rectangles are shown square in the photos. Most rectangles are shown incorrectly as well, swapping which sides are long and short. 2. Use the holes as guides, ignore shapes as they are not reliable. Pay attention to hole placement, size and quantity to orient the pieces correctly and it will come together as it should. 3. I used the tools provided as long as I could. It wasn’t until the last steps that I had to use my own. Metal screws J could benefit from a drill or even a normal screw driver. It is very difficult to use the tool they gave on these screws because the tool has no leverage and the screws strip easily. I used the tool provided but it would have been easier with a drill. Screws F, which come in at the last steps, I could not use the tool on. I had to go get my drill to be able to assemble the last parts. This is mostly because of how much pressure is needed to screw them in and the objects you’re working with here are working against you, unlike in other steps when things easily go together. The wrench. If you have your own use it. I used the one provided, which worked but took way too much time and was very difficult to work with. The last major step is the hardest. (This is the step where you connect the raising platform to the coffee table) You would benefit greatly by having another person to help hold. I did it on my own but would not have been able to without using my drill. I also had to use my phone as a flashlight to be able to see what I was doing. 4. This is true for assembling anything. Make sure nothing you do cannot be undone. It’s very easy to be turned around backwards and you never know when a piece will need to be removed and replaced correctly. (I had to do this twice). If you don’t strip your screws or screw them in too tightly this should not be an issue and you will be able to un-do any mistakes made. Hope this helps with assembly for others!

Great quality coffee table
2 areas are dirty a little cleaning is fine but everything else is clean and great condition. Lightweight. No missing parts. Screwdriver provided if you have no drill. Instructions are easy to follow when setting up. The quality is great. It’s stable and no issues whatsoever. Theres no storage. I’m 5”4 so it’s right on knee level and it’s a good average size for a coffee table. My cat approved it!

Nice but flimsy
This is not a bad coffee table. Works pretty well, is a great height for my couch, and doesn’t look bad. It is a little flimsy though and assembly suuucks but straightforward. The top does not hold much weight and it doesn’t have a lot of back pressure on the pistons which I paint a lot on this table and will cause it to drop if I press it a little too hard. It’s also annoyingly a two handed open and close because they didn’t do anything to make the pistons work together so if you try to do it with one hand it’ll become lopsided immediately and will likely cause anything you have on top to fall off. Decent amount of storage though.

Beautiful, sturdy coffee table that could've had clearer instructions
I've had this and a few other coffee tables in my shopping cart for a while. I've been looking for one that has a pop-up feature/storage. I decided to buy this one after the price dropped about $15 online. I really liked that it had three main areas of storage. It has a hidden storage area perfect for remotes, books, magazines, or a couch blanket. Additionally, there's open room underneath for a few art books or coffee table books. Off to the side, there's a cabinet door that reveals another storage space. This coffee table is the perfect height for my Ashley furniture couch and fits perfectly in the nook of an L-shaped couch so that you can rest your feet up or have coffee / snacks on hand while watching TV. While I love the coffee table so far, the assembly instructions left something to be desired. I've built just about all of the furniture in my apartment, much of it from Amazon, and this piece of furniture, while not difficult to assemble, did a disservice to the assembler with the order in which it suggested to piece it together. If I was to build this all over, I would suggest that customers do one of the last steps earlier in the building process. After assembling most of the coffee table, the instructions advise you to screw two ratchets affixed to a table top (one of the coffee table's heaviest parts) into the rest of the assembled coffee table. There is no easy way to accomplish this solo. The easiest way to do this would be to have a partner/friend hover the table top over the rest of the coffee table while the other person squeezes into a somewhat small, dark space to almost blindly screw in 16 screws to attach the two ratchets to the rest of the coffee table. Since I was solo, I found two items to stack inside the coffee table storage area to balance the table top onto in order to affix the ratchets to the coffee table. This could've been avoided if the instructions suggested you to affix the ratchets to the coffee table earlier in assembly when you could have the storage on its side. It seemed like an odd afterthought by making this one of the final steps of the coffee table building process. My only other issue while building was that some of the screw holes did not seem to be fully formed. I used a drill to get a number of the screws tightly in place for this reason. One other suggestion while building early on is to make sure that when you affix the two outside sides of the table - make sure you're not installing them upside down or you won't be able to put the legs of the table on at the very end properly. Each of the outside coffee table panels has two round holes encased in white near one of its edges. Those ends should be near the top of the coffee table. This is a rather early step and when I realized my mistake near the end on one side, I needed to disassemble some of the table to turn it around. I wished there was a clear note about that in the instructions. Despite these hiccups, the coffee table itself is great. But, I thought the slight assembly woes may be something others should know about before purchasing in case they can avoid the same while putting this piece together.
