Amazing
What an excellent invention - an example of how modern tech has made something like this possible. All you have to do is attach the tuner to the peg and hold it while you twang the appropriate string, and it physically tunes it for you. No fuss. It beeps and you move on to the next string, and repeat until finished. There's a built in light for using in dark rooms. An app is available to download, but it's not necessary really. It lets you update the software on the device, and add profiles for your instruments on the app and the tuner (you can add photos to the app - not exactly essential stuff). I use it without worry on a 1938 Kalamazoo and a Charvel. It's a bit pricy, but an excellent bit of kit if you can afford it. There's a different device for bass players, but it does the 12 strings, mandolins and banjos with no problems.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! The light year step for tuning woes, or if you are just sick of it.
If you can afford it - Buy it. I have been a guitar player for many decades, and to be honest, I think if someone was a beginner I would tell them to ask for one of these for Xmas, if they were a guitar tech (which I unofficially am too, I suppose! I get asked for help a lot.) I would say buy one, if someone was an experienced player who just wanted to sit down and strum instead of wasting time tuning up, get one. I can tune up like anyone else, I can even tune up by ear - But can I do it as fast as accurately, when I just want to play, not footle around with tuners, patching, batteries and all the faffing we know and love? - It seems a lot more accurate than other clip on contact tuners, and I have no idea why that should be. Seriously - This is really quite brilliant.

Great Little Gadget
This is a great little gadget for musicians. Tune your guitar in seconds. Electric, acoustic, 6, 7, 12 Strings and other stringed instruments, like Ukulele, Mandolin etc. There's plenty of different tunings to chose from and you can create your own with the handy app. Just sync up the app to the Roadie2 and you're off!!!

Good gadget but a bit of a faff
I’m sure a hobby guitarist or guitar tech would find this quite useful however, as a gigging muso I would find this too much of a faff during a show. It is made of plastic and doesn’t seem roadworthy to me and after using it for a couple of minutes it started experiencing issues. The tuning seems accurate all be it a little slower than advertised and it does cover a vast array of tunings plus you can create your own. Overall; a clever gadget but in my honest opinion not worth the hefty price tag.

SO In Tune
Have tried them all. Boss TU-2, Polytune, Snark, every kind of clip-on, tuning fork, those things you blow into. The lot. And my ears, of course. But everyone's got different ears, and some are better than others. And tuning in a noisy place when the rest of the band are tuning around you and you're trying to introduce a song ain't always that great. And if you've ever tried using a Boss pedal at a brightly lit festival you'll realise that even the best visual tuners have limitations. Roadie 2 swerves right past all that. It takes five minutes to get used to. It takes around 30 seconds to tune a guitar. Maybe a tad longer if you're going from Standard to DADGAD and you need to dial in the tuning first. A few extra seconds if you've just added a capo (gosh. It knows about capos too). It's got lights for dark places, and noises for bright places. And it's SO in tune. every time. The only limitation appears to be the need to start from the bottom string and work up. That probably adds a few seconds that aren't always necessary. Though this thing is so clever it always finds some strings that need a tweak. I've got one criticism, that doesn't mean I'm giving it less than five stars. It'd be nice to get one in a metal case. Looking at it, that doesn't seem impossible, for the main body of the unit. They can consider this a pre-order if they ever figure out how to do that.

once remedied this could easily become one the most used bits of guitar kit ...
What this does is very clever and it does it very well. I've tuned by ear for 20+ years and could never be faffed with alternate tunings but one evening with this thing and I developed confidence and competence with slide guitar for the first time, got all those Stones and Led Zep riff down properly and all thanks to how quickly and accurately you can switch between standard, G,D and DADGAD. Why four stars then? One gripe sadly, and this a fairly major design oversight, it will not fit Kluson tuning pegs! Being incompatible with a lot of Gibson and Epiphone guitars really needs to be mentioned in the description and addressed asap , once remedied this could easily become one the most used bits of guitar kit in the world

get a manual tuner
you spend more time fiddling about with this tuner you'd be better off with a Snark, not worth the money, this is my second one as I thought they might have improved it a bit but it's still the same

I love it - It stopped working - company promptly addressed the issue for me
I bought the product at the end of October 2019. It worked brilliantly - I was delighted - until January 2020. Then it started to malfunction and despite various efforts to solve the problems - several factory resets - the dial which allows you to select the options when using it does not function anymore. I am waiting on the sellers to get back to me. If the problem gets solved / I get a new Roadie and it works, I will put the rating to 4 or 5 stars. Update: still waiting for a response from the sellers (3 days since i wrote and got an automated reply). Update: I got a helpful reply (5 days) - we discussed the issue - I returned the Roadie which was fixed and promptly returned (all sorted out within 2 weeks) - now a happy customer

Works fine on electric guitars. Tuning in a jiffy. I don't use all the fancy tunings, but it can do practically anything. Great.
