First, I want to give a shout-out to the seller. They sent me an inquiry to make sure it had arrived and I was happy. The first one I got actually wasn't working. The lights came on but the fans didn't turn. So they sent me another without having to return the one that wasn't working. It arrived quickly and works perfectly. Second, I'm super happy with this cooling pad. I read a lot of descriptions and reviews and pros and cons before I finally chose this one because I liked the metal construction AND the placement of the fans high toward the back of the pad. They line up perfectly with the vent placement on my laptop. I also liked that the lights and fan can be adjusted separately, which seems rare with these things. Third, I'm going to recommend this cooling pad for the live streaming laptop at my church because it gets super hot during streams. PROS: Fan placement is perfect for laptops with vents nearer the screen than the middle of the machine. You want your fans to line up with the vents or it won't do a whole lot. Lights and fans can be adjusted separately. The lights have a really great range of functions - I set them to steady green because it matches my laptop and that makes me super happy. The fans have 3 speeds and a little light on the back changes color based on the speed. I ran it on both low and high speed to check my temp while playing Fortnite. Without the fan, I was gaming at around 159F, optimized. With the fan on low, I got 129F and on high it was 123F. The aluminum pad really does help to pull heat away from the laptop, unlike silicone or plastic which tends to hang onto the heat longer. It's not silent but the noise is negligible. I can barely hear it on low. It's still very unobtrusive on high. Rubber feet protect whatever surface it's on. The feet are very sturdy, and you can definitely get enough airflow with them collapsed. It's pretty lightweight but still feels substantial and sturdy. I wouldn't worry about carrying this in my laptop bag. The lip in front has a silicone cover to protect the edge of your laptop. It didn't seem to put any extra load on my laptop while plugged into a USB port, and it has an extra port to replace the one you use. I still got a longer double USB cord so I can plug it into an outlet instead. CONS: It's not a great lap pad because of the variations on the bottom of it, but that's not why I bought it. The retaining lip in front does not fold down, but that doesn't bother me really. It does stick up pretty high, but that's not an issue for me because it's still below the touchpad surface of my laptop. If you have a super thin laptop, that *might* be an issue when using the keyboard.

I’ve been using this cooling pad for a while now, and it works exactly as intended. My laptop stays cool even during heavy use. It stays quiet. I noticed a lot of negative reviews from people who seem to misunderstand the design. The fans are not supposed to blow air directly into your laptop’s vents. If they did, they would just blast dust into your internal cooling system and clog it up. Instead, the fans cool the metal plate, which then acts as a heat sink to pull heat away from your laptop. Once you understand that mechanism, you realize how efficient this design is. Highly recommended if you want to keep your temps down without ruining your hardware with dust.
