This is a pretty decent skimmer. The hose likes to come un done a lot and and it can be tricky attaching it but once you get it it works pretty decent it does pull the debri from the pool.

Awesome buy. I wanted to buy a bigger one but this was a gift to a friend. He loved it. Does its job but I do still want to get a more expensive one that does a more superb job

This skimmer means business. It’s simple to use, easy to attach, and does exactly what it promises: it cleans the heck out of the surface of your pool. Just make sure your pool pump has enough power to create the vortex effect, once it’s going, nothing on the surface stands a chance. Bugs? Gone. Leaves? Sucked into the abyss. Pollen? Vanished. It’s not fancy. It’s just effective. And honestly, that’s all I needed.

If you have an above ground pool, more than likely you don't have a skimmer. This is perfect. If you don't have a skimmer easy to use. Just fits over. The side goes down in the water, hook it to the suction line and it does what it's supposed to do. Helps keep the bugs and other floating objects from continually floating around traps them inside the skimmer basket so for easy removal.

The short hose from the skimmer to the filter inlet only lasted one season. I had to replace it with a section of hot tub hose which has lasted two seasons so far. But the reason I bought this again is that the red tab that sets the skimmer highth also became UV/chlorine damaged and broke. Also, we put a "produce freshness" bag on the skimmer basket to help trap the gnats we have here.

I ordered this wondering why does it say frequently return item . Then I got to thinking maybe people just don’t know how to use it. So I ordered it wondering how would it not work like so many comments said it would So when I first hooked it up, it did not work ! lol My pool has two suction ports So I thought maybe if I block one it will work so at first I use a Gatorade cap and block the one hole And it works So I ordered the shut off valves “in pic” As long u use it solo it works great!!

This works amazingly well. My only complaint is it doesn't work well with oval rails. We put a stick to take up some of the slack as you can see in the picture. In trying to get it tight enough that the baskets doesn't pop out of the water (because of the fit with the oval rails) the plastic cracked. It will finish out the season but will need to look into something different for next year. I would recommend as long as the pool rails aren't oval

After 10mins of the installation, the surface of the pool was clean. Remember to keep it clean before you swim or the collected debris will flow out.

There is no pump, u need your own. I added it to my system, and omg, this is the best money I spent. No more skimming with the pole. This takes all the crap off the top of the pool nicely. The floating ring seams like it’s not working, but when watch close, it skims the top of the pool.
