Can handle ripping harder woods.
I bought this to replace my twenty year old Bosch portable table saw after the motor seized up. Almost replaced it with a new one. It was a great saw and It did a lot of work. This worm drive Skilsaw has a few upgrades I sometimes rip oak, osage orange, purple heart and other dense woods. Even wet southern yellow pine is hard on a saw. I feel like it isn't stressed by hard woods and won't overheat the motor by the sound. The springs on the brushes of my last saw got too hot and detached from the brushes. Twice. Don't need that happening again. The large wheels, directional sawdust exhaust, and the crosscut guide locks into grooves are nice. The way the fence is gear driven is good and more accurate. I put an optional table extension attachment on it and I think it should be a standard feature, but it wasn't. Iv'e used it for a few months now and I think I made a good choice.

Bought this to replace my dead radial arm saw
Was finishing a rather large prefab storage shed and needed a saw to replace my nonfunctional radial arm saw. I like the mobility, it is a great plus and it has plenty of power. Owners manual is quite extensive and gives very clear instructions for setting up and maintaining the saw. You can download a digital copy, which I did, and had my tablet nearby referencing the manual as I setup and used the saw initially. I like the way it stows away and it is very easy to take it from the stowed condition to the ready position. If you have the room you can leave it in the ready position as it is quite easy to move around. Everything tucks into holding areas on the saw which keeps me from losing or misplacing them. A well thought out and solid saw. There are some good choices out there but I’m glad I chose the SKIL.

Great Saw Very Portable
It's on the higher price range for portable job site table saws, but this one is worm drive with tons of torque and a nice mobile stand that easily folds up. You can buy a cheaper saw, but this one seems to be a very good option for those who don't want to be replacing their tools often. This one is built to work and built to last. The assembly of the mobile base was a bit of a pain, but it can be done easier with help. The table saw itself was accurate right out of the box. No adjustments were required but there are easy adjustments options there if needed. The rack and pinion fence is smooth and easily adjusted. The miter gauge is the typical plastic with a metal runner that is of the T-style slot in the table.

Beast of a table saw
This table saw is a beast. I have been ripping 2x8's to make 2x4's for my whole house remodel/rebuild and there is no issue ripping them with this powerful saw. New 2x4s are soft, but 2x8s are made from better wood, and it saves money. The fence works perfectly. The open concept frame makes cleaning it easy. It is all-around exactly what I need. And I've enjoyed telling my motorhead friends that I have to do oil changes on my beastly worm drive saw!

when is an inch not an inch?
this saw is almost everything i wanted. i am an old pro finish guy. i won't be verbose here so quickly, let me point out the highs and lows from a 50 someodd years of carpentry point of view. first, this saw does all i need and then some. the extra 5/8 of an inch in blade height is a bonus as i can rip 4x4's in one pass. tons of power for sure. those are the biggies. i chose this saw for those reasons as well as the rack and pinion fence and the wormdrive power. now let's nitpick. when is an inch not an inch? the thing that sent me to the moon, and not in a good way, is the fact that the ruler at the fence isn't even close to s.a.e. the 12 inch mark is actually 11 13/16". the 24 inch mark is 23 3/4", etc. how can the manufacturer have an incorrect tape measure? i had to overlay an old stanley tape with contact cement to get an accurate fence setting. that was a pain and though it is now correct, it looks like hell. it did not come with a book! so i had to figure out how to assemble it using the picture on the box. i had to figure out how to fine tune the fence and i still haven't figured out what some fittings are for. if you plan on going fourwheeling with your saw then the wheels are fine. otherwise they are huge and cumbersome. there is no provision for an outfeed table. rollerstands are fine but i often need a full table behind the saw and so i, again, had to make some modifications for that. the throat plate was (is) warped and wants to ride higher than the table. assembled, the saw takes up fully half of my shortbed pickup. i wish there was a quick disconnect for the saw from the stand. while i was reading other reviews i noticed someone saying something about the on/off switch as being hard to get at. i have no problem with the switch. it has knee bump access and the e-brake is great. i don't use guards and etc. and so i can't offer any opinions as to their performance. but i will say that i am very satisfied, mostly, with this saw.
