does Picture Keeper save the pictures in the folder which they are saved in?

YES. Picture Keeper recreates the exact same file folder structure as your computer. So if you have spent lots of time organizing your photos in folders, we maintain that.

I want to buy this as a gift, but he has a laptop, and is not hooked up to internet, etc. Will this work just on a lap top?

Yes it does not require internet to work out of the box. The only reason you want internet connection is to update the software. We update our software several times a year and add new features that make it worth updating. You could plug it into a computer that does have an internet connection to update the software!

After it has backed up all my pics from the computer, can I go into the Picture Keeper and delete some of the pics it saved?

Yes you can! All you have to do is click on "View and Print" within the Picture Keeper Desktop software. Double click into the folders and select the pictures you want to delete. Then click on the delete button located on the bottom right of the software.
