Just what I wanted
I was a little disappointed when I first received this book as it is pretty small and there are no illustrations at all. However when I skimmed through it I found a recipe for Boiled Fruit Cake cooked in the combination oven which I've been unable to find on Google searches. For me this has already justified the price of the book! Obviously some of the recipes are quite basic, as you would expect in a book designed for people learning to use this type of oven. However there are quite a few interesting recipes, many of which could easily be adapted or used to give an indication of times, heat and power settings for similar dishes. The introduction has some good tips and advice for beginners using combination ovens. I found the chart showing the microwave wattage for the various power settings useful as I know that ovens do vary and I can check my oven against the list. I would have preferred it if less use had been made of bread mixes or prepared pizza bases, but I'm sure that I'll find the rest of the book pretty useful. It is certainly better than the very limited recipes included in the back of the instruction manual for my oven.

Too many dull recipes not enough technique
I suppose I knew this book wasn't going to be exactly what I wanted, but as the instruction book for my (Prestige) combi is rubbish I thought a cook book would help me work out how to use the darn thing, and this seems to be as good as it gets. I agree with the person who was annoyed that there were no instructions for baking potatoes as the oven will have a pre-set (it does but I don't like it) Try 20 minutes @ 200 deg C on combi for a big spud. However I can use the recipes to give me an idea how to adapt my own recipes - there are some useful hints and tips (for example I hadn't thought to pre-heat the oven on convection before using it in combination mode). It will kind of work for me - the instructions for cooking fish for example are good, and I can always use different herbs etc Don't think I'll be troubling the recipes much - retro and not in a good way. Pork chops with tinned peaches for example, and enchiladas made with leftover cooked beef and "1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce" (among other ingredients). And cheese and sour cream to rival Jocelyn Dimbleby! What I really wanted was a combi oven version of her other book "Microwave Cooking Properly Explained" or even a version of "Microwave Cooking Times at a Glance" - which I use a lot. Still a gap in the market there

Good recipes contained in this little book.
This little cookery book contains some real good recipes. The vegetarian chapter was of interest to me and I found the ingredients are what you would find in a normal supermarket so you don't have to hunt around the stores for anything. Quite straightforward and easy to cook. Pleased with the purchase.

Good little book
The book is approx W13cm X H 20cm has, 160 pages black and white throughout with no pictures of any finish meals. However, at the top right hand side of each recipe it shows symbols for each function to use ie g = Grill or m+g = microwave and grill and so on. This is helpful so you know straightaway which method is involved.

Lots of Combination Oven recipes
Unique because most books in this category are for the microwave function only. This cookery book is really useful if you have bought a combination oven and want maximum use and convenience. Certainly saves energy cost of using a gas or electric hob and oven. Variety of recipes from meat and fish dishes to cakes. Gives suggestions for ingredients and timings. No photos, but at this price and free postage, what do you expect? Same size as a slim paperback. Highly recommended.

I cook a fair amount and most of the recipes in things I've never eaten or heard of. My guess is for UK palates given the amount of lamb and cury dishes. But if you been dieing to figure out how to speed back your Tuna and Sweetcorn flan, this is the book for you. The temp are all in C, whatever that is.

Un poco decepcionada porque sólo trae texto. Ni una pequeña foto de nada. No he hecho ninguna receta todavía. Espero que sean buenas ya que si no, habrá sido una compra inútil
