Rock concert and narrative feature hybrid directed by Nimrod Antal and featuring the music of Metallica. The film interweaves live footage of the band playing a selection of songs from throughout their prolific career with footage of one of their roadies (Dane DeHaan) being sent on a mission to retrieve a package from a broken down tour vehicle. But what first appears to be a routine job for the young man quickly turns into a surreal nightmare when he is pitted against a deadly horseman while travelling through the city's anarchic streets...Blu-ray Disc 1 • “Metallica Through The Never” 3D movie (89 min) Blu-ray Disc 2 • "Metallica Through The Never" 2D movie (89 min) • Theatrical Trailer (2 min) • Master Of Puppets Music Video (8 min) • EPK – Cast & Crew Interviews (10 min) • Interviews With The Sound & Music Team (9 min) • Making Of "Metallica Through The Never" Documentary (73 min) • Mill Valley Film Festival Q&A With Metallica, Director Nimród Antal & Dane DeHaan (29 min) • Orion Festival 2013 Film Tent Highlights with Lars Ulrich (51 min) Review: The 3D experience is beyond description - The 3D version is beyond spectacular. Projected onto a large screen in 3D with full surround sound Metallica and the full stage production leap into your living room. In some ways it's better than being there in person. There's great depth and startling variety to the experience. For fans of hard core metal rock the 3D version is worth not only the price of the disc but buying all the associated 3D equipment from scratch! The movie-quality adventure woven into the concert, the startling huge stage builds, the background special effects, and above all the bone-jarring, mind-rending, heart twisting musical mastery of the four main musicians are taken to new heights by the 3D experience. In my extensive 3D collection of over 500 discs, this takes an honored place as one of the "best of the best." Words can not do justice to this incredible 3D metal rock concert. It must be experienced. Review: Filmed in 3d , the way all concerts should be done. - I am much more of a melodic metal fan than a fan of thrash. But this group is so good it even appeals to me. And this 3d blu ray gives you a great show and it was filmed in native 3d. Which is awesome. All concert films should be done like this. Metallica puts on a great show and we see why they have remained popular all this time. Even there stint with the later great hall of famer Lou reed was interesting. he joined them for a while. Metallica of course is a hall of famer too. and they will be the only thrash metal band to ever get that honor probably. Only megadeath is close to this group in that genre. If you want a great 3d concert this is it. And the blu ray has a stunning picture as well.

Filmed in 3d , the way all concerts should be done.

The best Metallica concert so far!!
This is quite simply the best concert I have ever seen. I say "concert" because 90% of the movie is concert footage. But not normal concert footage like some of metallica's or other bands blu rays or dvds. The first thing I noticed was the camera work. The footage is taken from movie like camera angles instead of the typical front stage and close ups with quick switching from each band member that we usually get. It made it more immersive to see top down views from the roof of the arena drawing in on Lars and his drums, or the camera flying through the stage from one side to the other while seeing the band jamming. I don't think I need to mention sound quality as it's always great but I think this is the best the band have sounded in my home theatre. It has a full 5.1 DTS MASTER AUDIO TRACK which is incredible if you can support it, but if you can't it's still the best Metallica has ever sounded on any home media. The bands performance is amazing and dare I say it better than Quebec magnetic and the other blu ray offerings like Francais pour une nuit, Orgullo pasion y gloria, and The big four (No offence to Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth). The sections of the film focusing on the roadie character are well done and fit well with the music, with some nice references to songs and albums. But you are not going to remember this film for the character and his journey, you will remember it for the concert which is personally my favourite Metallica concert caught on film to this date. The only thing I wish is if it was longer so I could enjoy it even more.

Dane Dehaan
superb film and one of my favourite young actors of this generation in this film most well sort after actors the one and only, Dane Dehaan. he played the younger green goblin just as good as "williem defoe's" older goblin, which i'm very glad say? i've met willem defoe in person superb guy now? Dane Dehaan was born Feb 6th 1986 AND HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY Dane! NEXT MONTH, AND DUDE YOU ROCK!! \m/ your simply amazing, very unique indeed your were fantastic in "through the never" i so want to see such more future projects from this guy for many years to come :-)

How good this is to you will depend on what you ...
How good this is to you will depend on what you want or expect from it. I'd seen clips and thought the concert footage looked great and was kind of hoping you could programme it to play whatever way you wanted; movie/concert, concert only, movie only. It doesn't but that's just as well; after a few songs the concert doesn't feel like a concert; it feels staged. Still looks and sounds great, but just not like a real concert. Too staged, somehow. The movie segments, though kind of meaningless and 'well why's that happening?' are really well shot, and a well mixed into the concert footage. The overall effect is that it's a ninety minute music video, rather than a movie, a concert, or even a combination of the two. It felt like it was their way of doing a Greatest Hits, and on that level, it's pretty good - enjoyable, even. If I want to watch the Metallica concert experience it won't be this I watch, but that said, I'll certainly watch it again.

Epic 3D Metal!
Visually and sonically this is just epic. The sound is just so clear and crisp. Visually it's immense - the stage, the lights, lasers, the intro to One never looked better. Yes the side story is a little Trippy (pun intended) but Metallica have never been about doing things the way people want them to and that's either something you admire about the band or you don't. I personally thought the way they moved from concert to events outside was really good and took it as a story to go with the music. The stage was incredible, the 3D superb and of course the performance? Well it's Metallica. It was epic. If you're looking for something deep and meaningful from what is in essence a 94 minute concert performance with a side story then you will obviously be disappointed. If you're looking for a visual and audio treat with an occasional side story - this is for you.
