Pricey - additional plans are really expensive so make sure you know what comes as standard
The more expensive baby monitors and the extra plan is expensive for the extras. I purchased the more expensive plan because I am impulsive and not aware of what does/doesn't come as standard. A really good monitor for us though. The birdseye angle is a dream. We were able to change the height and angle so it was perfect. Clear image every time with no doubts of what's happening. I also got some of the breathing monitoring swaddles (not sure if this monitoring is standard) which has done wonders for our piece of mind. It gives us monthly ish videos showing us how much the baby has grown. It also gives age-related tips which have genuinely been helpful Everything is controlled through the phone which wasn't a problem for us, It has a 'background audio' mode which means the sound from the camera is being played on your phone in live time so if there is any crying etc you can hear it instantly without constantly checking your phone and having screen time. We end up turning this on in the evening time when watching TV so we can have one ear upstairs knowing what is happening. Notifications come pretty much straight away - no lag for us. Can also give family/friends visitor permissions so they can view only the camera. We were never interested in this though. The only improvement I would suggest would be to have some more buttons on the camera which we use often e.g to turn the camera and white noise on and off. Currently, all controlled through the phone. Definitely on the more expensive side but a really good product and recommended. If you're not bothered by the extra features and you want to do the basics then this would probably be overkill. But it has been unreal for us and we have loved it

Cheap and useless
I wasted way too much money on this. The full system, travel case etc, but this is a product that has levied more funds into marketing than the product itself. It's a cheap, low performing camera with a badly designed app. Almost every feature is locked behind a paywall which I had for the first year of my baby's life, then I dropped it and lost effectively most functionality. I understood this, and that isn't why I've given it 1 star. I've given it 1 star because I thought I would continue with the product without subscription, knowing full well that I'd lost most functionality. However, the product failed at 13 months, and against a further 13 months on. The first fail was replaced by Nanit for free, it just completely stopped. The second fail started flashing the IR senor non-stop, giving constant notifications. I couldn't believe both units failed in just over 12 months. I didn't even both contacting Nanit the second time, I chalked it up to me buying into the hype. Since my daughter turned 2 and this camera failed she has inherited her big brother's Arlo Baby camera, which is 6 years old at this point, offers more functionality without a subscription, but above all - still works. (As you would expect from a wifi camera of this price point.) My advice is to go on ebay and get one of those. Don't fall for the hype, don't trust this brand and the cheap camera sensor being cleverly marketed as a premium product - it is not.

True peace of mind
After our Owlet baby monitor stopped working (after 1 use, but that’s another story) we decided to do some research, and checked out lots of reviews - the Nanit Pro seemed to be highly recommended. We’ve been using it now for a handful of days, but already we are so pleased we chose this one. We haven’t yet used the camera with the wall mount, just using the stand (although this limits your stats), which we’ve screwed onto a camera tripod. The picture quality is great, as too are the features. You can play sounds via the camera (birds, rain, wind, white noise) as well as turn on a night light atop the camera. You can also have audio from the camera constantly pass through to your phone / tablet, even in the background. It comes with a waist band and a swaddle which feature the black pattern that the camera reads. This is by far the greatest thing for peace of mind, as you can see your baby’s breaths per minute. We have the app installed on our phones and on our iPad, which is great for the kitchen at night when baby is in their crib and snoozing in between feeds. The camera also has night vision, so you can see baby even in the dark, which is brilliant. We can’t fault it, the software is great (which with some others can sometimes be annoyingly bad), the hardware is great, and it works reliably. Would recommend to anyone without hesitation. UPDATE: After 5 months of ownership, we’re still as pleased as we were when we initially wrote this review. We are now using the wall mounted camera, and it’s never skipped a beat, still would highly recommend to anyone looking for a baby cam.

Good video quality and flexible for locations
This is our favourite baby cam. We’ve tried a few from friends but none of them had the combination of features that this has. We mounted ours on the wall (which is stuck super strong and flush so little hands can’t peel off the trunking) and because it projects off the wall, we can a really good birds-eye view of the entire cot which is really helpful and allows us to see where she is at all times. The app is really well made and fits into the iOS feature set very well - it supports Picture in Picture, background audio, and is very customisable. The night light and music are a nice addition, but we mostly like the fact that we can calm our littler one using the speaker function of the camera by speaking into our phone. Not only is it useful for reassurance, my wife and I use it for quick communication if either of us are tending to our child and need any help or and items. Great product, and the extra mobile mount is an essential purchase with this if you ever travel and need to use it in the go.

Insights
This is great baby monitor. It’s almost criminal considering the upfront cost that you have then pay a monthly subscription after your first year to get any of the benefits from it that you bought it for.

Cheaper flex stand and full capability access to insights
I got the Nanit pro with flex stand on prime day for 150 which was a great deal. I had wanted a Nanit monitor for a while but couldn’t decide which stand to get as the floor and wall stands seemed to come with a much bigger price tag but also more capabilities. The reality is this was quite misleading, as actually, the flex stand Nanit pro is just as capable of doing most of the same things as the more expensive stands, as long as it’s placed at an optimal position. They just don’t give you the instructions to access the capabilities automatically which is annoying and a bit sneaky. Anyway after some queries and one very helpful customer service assistant I found a solution that lets me get the high speed all night playback and sleep insights (without the bigger price tag). I’m sharing the solution on here so others can also benefit from the maximum that this Nanit with the cheaper monitor stand has to offer: So read on to see the workaround to be able to receive Insights with the Nanit Flex Stand (previously called the Multi-Stand). By default, they disable Insights to work on the Flex Stand. This is because the algorithm was designed to work best with a fixed height of 66 inches and the camera positioned above the wide side of the crib. Since the Flex Stand can be placed anywhere, it can provide the camera with a less optimal position, thus providing the algorithm with insufficient data which can cause inaccurate Insights. However, you do have the option to enable Insights on the Flex Stand if you so choose using these instructions: Tap "Baby Settings" > "Advanced" > Tap "Firmware Version" five times quickly and a hidden menu will appear > Tap "Mount mode" > Choose "Floor Stand." I’m now super happy with this monitor as I can actually access the features they had initially hidden from me (I have it on a shelf above the short side -top) of the crib and it works grand - in due course I’ll put the stand on a shelf at the optimum position (height of 66 inches and positioned above the wide side of the crib).

frustrating and malfunctioning
My wife insisted on buying an old school video baby monitor with camera and screen but I convinced her to buy this, because of the option to view the camera via our phones. I was SO WRONG. This product have tones of issues and creates so much difficulties in comparison with using a regular baby monitor. Starting with the setup which is overcomplicated, continuing with constant malfunctions of all kinds and finishing with the nightmare of adding a second user. For couple of weeks using the product and the related app I have experienced all kinds of issues: the 2 way audio don't work - when you try using it it start some connection process and at some point it crashes and brings a error message to try again; I manage to make it work when I'm using my mobile data, but not when I'm using the wifi at home which is ridiculous; ot the other hand the connection with the camera often dont work when I'm out of home using the mobile data for no apparent reason - it just cycle a processing icon forever and nothing happens. Setting up an account ask for a ridiculously difficult password that I cant now remember - even though I fulfilled the original prerequisites for a password of 8 characters with all types of symbols, my passwords was not accepted labeled as "so-so" and I was asked to further complicate it - extremely frustrating. There is 2-step verification process that you can not op-out - so every time you want to login into your nanit account you need to enter a code from a SMS - even more frustrating. For some reason there are not one but 2 Alexa skills for nanit and one of them could not be enabled - it gives errors. But the biggest "hit" is adding a second user - this is a nightmare. We went trough 100 steps and we reached the pint were my wife have an account; have the app; has accepted the invitation, but when she logs to the app the only option she is give is to setup the camera or by new nanit kit. And of course when we try to setup the camer we get a result that the camera is already linked to another account. So now when I'm out of home my wifi cant use the monitor at all. This product is such a spectacular failure.

So pleased with it!
I bought an Angelcare monitor originally, their top of the range model, and was SO disappointed with it. The range was rubbish and it kept dropping out, and worst of all it somehow knocked out Wi-Fi out every time it was on (must have been interfering with the Wi-Fi frequency). So I purchased the Nanit that promised to work over out Wi-Fi and not interfere with it. So glad I did! The picture is vastly superior to the Angelcare monitor. It has tons of nice features and the picture doesn’t seem laggy at all. It’s really smart looking and I like that I can mount the flex unit on any old tripod as there’s a screw hole in the bottom of it. It was incredibly easy to set up and get going with it, which is important when you’ve got a new baby and limited time to faff with these things. Overall delighted with my purchase
