The extraordinary YA TikTok sensation about learning to survive unthinkable trauma from bestselling author, Amber Smith'After finishing this book, my heart was pounding and I couldnโt find words big enough to describe how brilliant, beautiful, and powerful it is.' L.E. Flynn, author of All Eyes On HerAll Eden wants is to rewind the clock. To live that day again. She would do everything differently. Not laugh at his jokes or ignore the way he was looking at her that night. And she would definitely lock her bedroom door. But Eden canโt turn back time. So she buries the truth, along with the girl she used to be. She pretends she doesnโt need friends, doesnโt need love, doesnโt need justice. But as her world unravels, one thing becomes clear: the only person who can save Edenโฆ is Eden. โA courageous, necessary, and beautiful book.' Kathleen Glasgow, author of Girl in Pieces'A raw novel thatโll stay with you long after you finish.' Buzzfeed Review: Comforting - The book is good...good for those girls who went through a lot in their teenage...just go for it...<3 Review: Unputdownable! - Eden, the protagonist, left a lasting impact on me. From her bright and happy 14-year-old self to a young woman seeking liberation, her journey was tumultuous and heartbreaking. Each part of the story pushed her further down a dark path, breaking my heart in the process. I was simultaneously frustrated by the decisions she made, knowing she hurt many people, but no one more than herself. However, she eventually finds redemption and discovers the key to her freedom. It was inspiring to witness her grasp it with trembling hands, filled with worry and doubt. While I'm glad Eden was able to reunite with her brother and clear the air with Amanda, I wished the book had shown whether she made amends with Stephen, Mara, and even Cameron. It would have been satisfying to witness her reunion with Mara. Additionally, it would have been gratifying to see Kevin face the consequences of his actions. An epilogue depicting a glimpse into the future, months or years later, with quick updates on everyone would have been appreciated. It could have revealed whether Mara and Cameron stayed together and if Eden and Josh found their way back to each other. The ending, although fine, felt abrupt and left many unanswered questions. The one who selects this book will never regret reading this. Happy Reading.

A Must Read โจ๐ค
This book is about a girl call Eden. She was raped by her brother's bestfriend Kevin. So basically this revolves around her trauma and experience which is described in four different parts i.e freshmen year, sophomore year, junior year and senior year. (Please read trigger warning before reading this cause it is hard to read)

[PLEASE CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING THIS BOOK WHICH MAINLY INCLUDES R*PE] This is the story about Eden who was unfortunately r*ped by someone she knew and trusted when she was only 14 years old. This is the story about how her life spiralled out after that traumatic incident. Very rarely I find myself at a loss of words while reviewing a book and somehow this book makes me feel like that. This book is extremely hard to read, and even harder to review. I will just say this - The Way I Used To Be is an important and visceral book. It broke my heart to see Eden suffer like the way she was suffering, internally and all alone. Books donโt make me cry easily but this book was highly emotional. I was sobbing uncontrollably for the last 100 or so pages. I literally donโt know how to review this book. Please, please read this book and let this book break you and make you sob. The story of Eden is so important to be shared because unfortunately, my heart is breaking while writing this, her story is true for other little girls out there. We need to make sure that all the Edens of this world know that they are not alone and we are with them. There you go, the most inarticulate review I have ever written because I am still broken and speechless by this story. I need therapy after reading this book. But honestly, this book is a gem and I cannot recommend it enough.

Very emotional story!
Slight/minor spoilers. This book is just...it's just everything. I felt everything the characters felt. I was heartbroken, angry, frustrated, I felt betrayed and astonished. I just.. so many tears were shed. I texted my niece multiple time to tell her what I was feeling. She recommended the book, so I felt it was only fair to share the journey with her as I read it. Eden is such an impactful character. She goes from a 14 year old bright, shinning, happy young girl to a young woman looking for a way to free herself. Her path was tumultuous and heartbreaking. Each part of the story takes her one step further down a dark road. Seh breaks my heart so many times while simultaneously frustrating me with the decisions she makes. She hurt so many people, but no one more than herself. However, she find her redemption, her key to freedom, and she finds the strength to grab it with both hands, even while those hands were trembling with worry and doubt. I'm glad that she was able to reunite with her brother and clear the air with Amanda, but I'm sad that the book ended before it showed whether she was able to make amends with Stephen, Mara and even Cameron. I would have at least like to see her and Mara reunite. I also would have liked to read about Kevin getting what he deserved. Maybe an epilouge that showed many months/years into the future for a quick update on everyone. Perhaps Mara and Cameron stayed together and maybe Eden and Josh could have found their way back to one another. The ending was fine, it was just really abrupt and left a lot of questions unanswered. All-in-all, the book was very good. It hits you in the heart and makes you really care about the characters.
