This was not a plug and play and the documentation sent by customer service had holes in it. Links that led to a 404 etc. When I asked for more information they sent back the same docs. Understand that these people are in China and it takes a couple of days for them the reply. I was on the edge of throwing the device away, but tried to get information one more time, and this time an engineer replied. When he discovered what I wanted to do, he said forget about the other info, do this and this. Then it was It was easy and it worked perfectly.

It works just like I expect - it has a web interface to set serial port properties. To send or receive serial data, you connect to it via a TCP socket. And, it's reasonably priced. It comes with a 5V, 1A power supply and a DB9 serial cable. It accepts a wide input voltage so it's easy to power. I also like the terminal blocks to make it easy to hook up RS485 or 422 devices without needing to custom wire a D-sub connector. The configuration website is a little hard to decipher because the defaults don't seem to be a functional configuration. I set the "Work Mode" to TCP Server, and then set the "Local Port Number" to the port number, and was able to open a socket and communicate. Supposing you had a modem attached to the serial port, and configured the Local Port Number to 3000: import socket s = socket.socket() s.connect(('192.168.0.7', 3000)) s.send(b'AT\r\n') data = s.recv(1024) # should be b"OK" It has some other operating modes (UDP, etc). There are manuals on the manufacturer's website. I'm planning to use it to speak RS485 to my water heater's data port, so I can track temperature and power usage.

This device is a flexible and versatile connection to serial devices, and it well suited to experimentation. Although my early attempts to interface it to serial gear have not yet been successful, I am still willing to give this item a high rating owing to its versatile array of connection options, it’s high quality of construction, and it’s exceptionally detailed documentation. I look forward to further experiments and seeing some success. Recommended, if interfacing with serial devices is in your experimentation plans.

Der kleiner Serielle Server ist gut verarbeitet und funktioniert bei mir ohne Probleme. Ideal um nicht smarte projekte smart zu machen.

Ottimo convertitore , funziona egregiamente. Io lo sto usando attualmente per la comunicazione da modbus rtu a modbus tcp/ip .
