Fanally, after five years of reliable use the mixer has failed. It leaks badly from the bottom of the mixer bar. As we have had the use of this for five years, almost to the date, it is very good value. At just over Β£30 it works out at close to Β£6 per year or just over 10p per week to buy this. Although I am tempted to replace the one that has finally failed with the same product, this one, I have been searching for something similar but can't find anything. So, it quite likely that we will be using the same product again, which I don't mind. As I metnioned in the original review, the jubilee clips need to be tightened soon after installation but throughout the five years I have had to retighten the clips at least once per year and at least three times over the five years I have had to remove the bar completely and refit it again, due to leaks around the taps. It's not a big deal and is only a short few minutes to complete but it would be good if this product was improved so that users don't have to keep messing with it. I bought the set try to fix it but it still leaking** A: For anybody reading this, there is a simple solution. Some people suggest taping the taps 1st but that won't last if it does work. The solution to this problem is to tighten the jubilee clips as much as you can and making sure the screws are in an easily and workeable position. Run the shower for a minute or two then leave overnight. The next day you will find that the rubber seals have settled and the jubilee clips have some more give in them. Tighten the clips again and job done, no leaks. **Q: can you tell me how big it is from tap to tap** A: My bath is an old steel bath more than 30 years old, with round taps, which presumably was/is a standard width. Measuring from the middle of each tap I make it a width of 7.25 ins (7 1/4). There is some flexibility in fitting these because the rubber fittings are very thick and have some give in them. **Q: Would this fit on lever taps?** A: Dont buy this, its crap beyond belief, i went through 3 of them as the rubber seals kept bursting, i ended up just buying a mixer tap set and fitted them myself (which btw was a hell of allot easier to install) dont waste you're time and money buying this crap honestly **Q: How does the unit fix onto the taps must have something to hold it on or won't the pressure from the water push it off ?** A: The seals have "two" jubilee clips per each seal. Many comments about this product regard leakage but that is really no p[roblem as the solution is simple enough. Whilst tightening the jubilee clips make sure the screws are always in an easily accessable / working position. After tightening as much as you can, run the shower for a minute or two. The chances are that you will get some leakage. Turn the shower off and leave overnight. The next day you will find that the seals have now settled and the jubilee clips have some more give in them. I know how easy it is to fit,it's still very cheap and it will last at least until 2026! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fiddly to fit *by H***R on 7 September 2024* I've owned several of these over the years as I live in a house that I can't install a shower in and I have mobility issues, so a bath is out of the question. These are great bits of kit for people in my situation, but you do have to replace them every few years as the jubilee clips rust and the mixer stops working. They are fiddly to fit, but once fitted properly they work as well as any shower I've ever had. They don't fly off the taps because of the water pressure, unlike the old rubber ones we had when growing up. It's very easy to use, you turn the taps on, flip the switch and its instantly running. I find it's easier to turn the taps off to turn off rather than to try and fight the pressure to flip the switch back, I'm always wary that it will break. I've never had the switch break, but I do feel it could be a possibility. I've replaced the shower head to a wider one as I like a decent spray, but that's just personal preference. If you're in a situation that you want a shower, but can install one then I would say, buy one of these.
