KNIPEX Pliers Wrench Pliers and a Wrench in a Single Tool Self-Service Card Chrome-Plated with Plastic Coating 180 mm, 86 03 180 SB

Occasionally you come across a product, that is just right, and a joy to use, and these pliers/wrench are prime example. Smooth and easy to operate, with that "you get what you pay for", engineering quality. The non-marking jaws, give a firm grip, but without the destructive surface marking that standard adjustable wrenches have. The jaws are also much more stable and precise than other smooth jawed adjustable spanners. One slight warning, the pliers are supplied (correctly) with a protective light oil/grease that needs to be wiped off, before it gets everywhere.

What can I say except “another fantastic Knipex product”. Not cheap, but great value. I had a pair of parallel jaw pliers I used a lot to insert bushes into 3D printed parts, but they are too small for many of the parts. This parallel action goes out to 40mm and is superb. Far better than an adjustable spanner because hand pressure maintains the pressure on the nut flanks, reducing the chance of slipping and rounding a nut.

Completed my line up, 125mm, 180mm and 300mm. I use them on just about every callout I go to. They grip soft metals which an adjustable spanner tend to round off if it’s tight. Yes they’re expensive but worth every pound, you won’t be disappointed. Tools are a long term investment, some worth it, some not, these fall into the former category.

The first unit of this has jaws that don't close flat, which makes them unable to hold onto thin material. I will need to return and swap it. It is an awesome tool though. I have a smaller 125mm one that I love. (see photo for size difference) The 300mm size is great, but I think I'd probably go with 250 plus the 125 if you want to carry one on your belt, which I do. 300mm is absolutely huge, which is obviously good for some tasks.

I am an electrician and this tool has replaced traditional spanner set and pipe grip set overnight. Not only does this reduce the amount of tools I carry but this tool is better for the job than the more traditional solutions mentioned. If you do a lot of work with nuts, bolts or cable glands then I highly recommend these brilliant tools.

Cross between an adjustable spanner and water pump plier. More flexible to use than the adjustable spanner, less damaging on fittings than the water pump pliers but does need flat surfaces to work, same as a spanner. 180mm is useful when working in tight spaces, such as under the sink, and 250mm when a bit more leverage is needed. I could still get by with adjustable spanners, saving money along the way, but these just make life a bit easier.

Don’t think, put them in your wish list, just buy them! Best thing since the adjustable spanner was created but a whole lot better and useable. Why didn’ti buy them sooner.

Compre estas para probar y son muy pequeñas, sirven para roscas de cosas pequeñas pero para la capacidad que abre te costará mucho aflojar por lo que compre las de 250mm y muy satisfecho con ambas para el uso que debe cada una.

The product is definitely as good as all the youtube videos claim it to be. Dont know how long it would last under heavy daily Garage work. But for a set of house tools used for DIY projects and home renovations its great……
