Joseph Joseph Helix Garlic Press, easy crush action, dishwasher safe - Green, 24

This is simply the best garlic press I’ve ever owned. I think it’s owed to the design of the pressing mechanism, but it just makes pressing garlic so easy!! Yes, there is a little bit of garlic left in the bottom - but that happens with all presses I’ve tried, and if you just smoosh it around a bit you can press through again. Easy to clean too.

Best garlic press I've ever had, and my husband loves it as a pill crusher - so much so he's bought one himself for his pills.

It’s a nice design, well made and does a good job. However, I found the fact that it’s in two parts is annoying, you can’t just flip it open, drop in the garlic and squeeze. You take it apart, drop in the garlic and then align the handles in an unnatural feeling grip before squeezing them together. I like Joseph Joseph designs but this one is a little awkward.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago (from a brick and mortar shop - remember them?) and I've used it most days since then. The press is in two parts - one part is where you add your garlic bulb (it can be peeled or not peeled). The other part is what is used to apply the pressure to crush the garlic. It uses a very simply corkscrew mechanism, starting with two lugs on one part to guide the two parts together to crush the garlic bulb. It's the best garlic crusher I've come across. It's dishwasher safe. You can use it to crush root ginger as well. This purchase is for a friend.

After reading reviews of other brands, I decided to get this one. The twisting mechanism is much better than other brands which parts are easily broken or snapped when you apply force to squeeze the garlic. The colour, design and material of Joseph Joseph are all good. Used three times so far. Hope it will last.

I've had this for a few months now and I couldn't be happier! This mechanism is ingenious and so easy to use. I had a ratcheting garlic press for years that I loved because I have sore, stiff weak hands. But other people would break by over ratcheting and pushing it through the faceplate. They stopped making it and the search for a new one began. So I have tried many different garlic presses over the years and nothing compares to this one by Joseph Joseph. I love it! I want to own the lemon squeezer, and the potato ricer and I don't even rice potatoes! But it is just that brilliant. Companys will be copying this design as soon as patents are off! This item would be great for anybody, but it would be especially great for anyone who suffers with arthritis, chronic pain, or anything else where you have problems with your and arms shoulders and or, upper back ... it is just so easy to use. Smiply line up the red dots and then squeeze using all of your upper body in a fluid motion, no effort or strain on your hands, wrist or shoulders. There is little to no resistance, no matter how many cloves are in there. But don't overfill to the point where the cloves come out the top. The threads have to be able to get started. If you want more than 3-4 cloves at a time it easy to reload and you don't even have to clear out the last bits of garlic. Hands down the best garlic press. Easy, easy to clean, does not get gunky garlic bits stuck in it. Great product, I might get the ricer since Ive seen someone use it for boiled eggs.
