I kid you not, the delivered package was nothing but a bag full of metal cylinders. Is this a joke?

That seems like a fulfillment issue. I would reach out directly to Amazon support

Is this a complete game, or do you need to buy several expansions?

This is a complete game, if you want to play it solo, there is a Solo board made by a fan of the game, you can find the file to print the board on BGG.

What are the dimensions of the cards?

Regular trading card size, like Magic the Gathering. 63x88 mm

Does this game have sequel trilogy stuff in it? If so, I don't think I want it...

It is mostly the first 3 movies with a few characters from rogue one.
