Basilico Sauce

Fantastic price! A lot cheaper than the supermarket. Packaged really well and tastes beautiful! Will definitely be buying again for this price and will also try some other flavours too. I really rate this brand. Their pastas are so lovely and this was the first time trying the sauce. Not disappointed. Would definitely recommend. One happy Yorkshire lass lol x

EDIT 28/10/24 packaging has been overhauled and now comes super protected, no breakages. 3 in a row on perfect condition. Well done! I have had this delivered a few times now and 2 of the deliveries arrived smashed. Not great. 2 came perfect - bubble wrapped, boxed, the other two look like they've been used as footballs and leaked everywhere. Really need to work on packaging and maybe add a "fragile" sticker!! When it arrives properly, it's my favourite pasta sauce, very basil-y! No added lemon or filler, just tomatoes, salt, oil, basil and importantly for me, no garlic as I have an intolerance, this makes it very light and great for using as a Pizza base as well as sauce without being so heavy.

We first tried this sauce on holiday in Italy - it was one of the brands we mostly saw in the grocery stores where we were staying. My daughter loved it, and said it was so much better than the most popular brand she liked in the UK. Barilla Basilico is far more flavourful than the UK brand, as well as being much less sweet. It is quite thick in consistency and the label proudly states that it contains only Italian tomatoes. We were pleased to find it available on Amazon - it arrived quickly and was well packaged - the jars were wrapped in bubblewrap in a small box, packaged with paper in a larger box which contained the rest of my order. The only reason I haven't given this product 5 stars is because one of the jars arrived with a hairline crack. It is uncertain whether this occurred during packing, transportation or delivery. It is worth noting that neither of the boxes was marked as fragile - perhaps this could prevent damage to jars in the future.

I’ve purchased these a few times now and the taste is great, a really nice sauce. If your just coating pasta a jar will do 4x people easily. If your using it as a sauce i.e. lasagne a jar will do 2x people. I had one package where 2x jars were smashed by the courier (wet, crushed box). A new pack of 6 arrived next day after calling Amazon. Don’t let the risk damaged jars put you off

This is a wonderful tomato sauce, but a bit expensive. Even so, I think it's worth the money as the flavour is so good.

Packaged badly so one jar completely smashed and had to deal with the broken glass! Not worth returning as I know the sauces are good but this delivery was dangerous😡
