Harry Potter - The Illustrated Collection: Three magical classics : Rowling, J.K., Kay, Jim: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Excellent addition to my Harry Potter book collection - I am 14 and I have lost count of how many times I have read Harry Potter (definitely more than 15) I got these books in September 2021 and I really like them. The illustrations are beautiful (thank you Jim Kay) which makes me happy because after watching the films I was slightly disappointed. This is another excellent way to bring JK Rowling’s world to life. I also bought the Goblet of Fire but was slightly disappointed about the number of illustrations in it. I would still recommend buying it if you are a collector. I think these would be great to read to younger children too ( I was originally intimidated by the lack of pic tures in Harry Potter and I think it is important for everyone to have a chance to be in Harry's world). I am looking forward to the illustrated Order of the Pheonix coming out in October (as well as Fantastic Beasts; The Secrets Of Dumbledore in April) This is a great buy for any Harry Potter fan or anyone who wants to see amazing drawings! This is random but one of my favourite things about these books is their smell. This is a reason not to get the ebook. Review: Looks amazing - Came quick and was well protected little dink on the corner box but nothing really noticeable and look absolutely stunning 100% recommendation

Delightful but artwork not my cup of tea!
What a great set of books and a gift that cannot disappoint! Beautifully set out and big in size, these capture the spirit of the books and the reader can enjoy thoroughly! I must admit though that I am not a fan of all the artwork and find that disappointing but that is just a personal taste as I would have preferred bolder colours and better faces for everyone but I can see that many will love them so don't be put off by my comments there as these books would thrill any child or indeed adult! I don't like the Mona Lisa but appreciate the artistry in it and feel the same here and therefore not liking most of the pictures doesn't prevent me from thoroughly recommending the books!

Beautiful quality books. A lifelong gift.
This box set of Harry Potter 1-3 are simply stunning. The quality of the illustrations and the print is impeccable. The weight of the box set is a testament to the quality. These are worth every penny spent as they will last a lifetime if they are cared for. This was a gift for my son and his mom and they adore them. Wonderful books to read and appreciate as a family.

A must get for any fan!
Absolutely magnificent! I purchased the first three and I’ve just finished The Philosopher Stone. I have honestly never enjoyed reading so much, I’m 35 years old and felt like a kid again reading it. A truly magical book, I can’t wait to read the rest. I will certainly be buying the whole set when they are all out. Well done and a big thanks to the illustrator Jim Kay for bringing back the magic I once felt as a kid.

Beautiful, exactly as pictured
Very happy with this set. The books are beautiful and arrived in top condition. I bought it as a gift for someone and they are very pleased with it. On my sneak peak the Illustrations immediately captured the harry potter essence, quite jealous, might need to buy a set for myself.

Ediciones muy cuidadas con ilustraciones impresionantes. Los textos son íntegros, sin adaptar. Viene en una caja de protección.

When I first saw these in a review I knew I had to get them, the illustrations were so gorgeous. But ultimately I returned them as it didn’t quite feel as immersive as I had imagined it to be. I think there were only 2-3 illustrations of Hermione in the entirety of the 3 books, the illustrations were mainly character or object-based which was why I felt that it wasn’t very immersive, there were a few scene-based illustrations like Azkaban and Hogwarts on the inner covers which were what I imagined what the book was going to be. The scene-based illustrations were so detailed and fantastical, you could really imagine the characters in them. It felt a little anti-climatic to read through an action packed scene only for the illustrations to be a tiny object of something or just the character’s portrait slapped in the middle of the page. I had expected to see the characters drawn in reaction to something or being part of an incredible scene but I’d say most of the time the two subjects were drawn separately.
