I have very coarse hair that tends to clog professional grade hair clippers. Normally I use straight razors and safety razors. So I am picky about what I use and what I buy. This item cuts closer and more consistently than my Wahl professional hair clippers. I haven't had a problem with clogging yet. With the open design minimal clean up is needed. The reason I decided to try this item was to use just before wet shaving my scalp. It won't shave as close as an electric razor but it does make for a very good start before wet shaving. Much better than standard hair clippers as far as performance goes.
