1095 Steel Flat Stock 3/16

Great steel great price

Steel arrived rust free and oiled. I think two had slight warps but these were annealed enough to straighten with no problems but that’s super common with steel bars. I’d call these “sub critical annealed” and not fully annealed but ground fine. I’ve both stock removed and forged with these and so far so good. Going to do some pattern welding soon with them.

Had to aneal them before use and they were bent when I received them. If you can’t get your metal str8 on your own you might want to avoid these BUT they are good quality

Unknown steel. I ordered this 1084 as well as some 15n20. The second was definitely not 15n20 as it watched the same as this steel. Given that was not what they claimed I have serious doubts this is either. Turned a medium gray when etched instead of nearly black, even after 15 minutes in fresh ferric chloride. In addition they came quite distorted.

El acero llego con las medidas descritas, las lmainas llegaron bastante dobladas, para las personas que somos entusiasta y no tenemos como forjar aprs enderezar....el acero parece tener algo de dureza Cosas que se pueden solucionar.....esperemos a ver el resultado final

This steel is great at under $5 a piece! I can usually make 2 stock removal knives per piece which adds up to 16 knives for under $40! I’ve had no issues with warping and all my pieces came annealed properly! I will definitely be ordering again.

I checked all the hardware stores and this was the best deal around I could find. Nice quality for sure practising and learning to forge.

Ive purchased both the 15N20 and 80CRV2. Both are easy to work with, easy to harden and make very good blades that hold a great edge. Being high carbon, they will rust or develop patina if a bit of extra care isnt given, so I nickel electroplate them to a mirror finish which gives added corrosion resistance. Pic #1 is 15N20 Pic #2 is 80CRV2

Cuidado de 8 piezas dentro del paquete 6 muy bien. 2 torcidas.. mal servicio.. no reclamo pero ko vuelvo a comprarles. Saludos
