I was delighted, in the first instance, to receive my package a full six days ahead of Amazon's due date. With the continuing machinations of Covid, and the busy-ness of the Festive season, that was no mean feat! Then, I was delighted with the way my Tourmalines were packaged. Inside a secure, well-padded envelope (with the brand name on it, which is very helpful when you can't remember the seller's name for toffee)... well, what I can say? Without recourse to hyperbole, having imported quite a few gemstones both raw and polished, it's without doubt the cleverest packaging I've had the pleasure to encounter. Shown in my photo, it resembles a small picture frame; but instead of glass, the stones are held securely but gently in place by soft, flexible - yet strong - plastic. The whole was ideal for a trans-Atlantic journey, protecting the gems within from the whims of Atlantic weather while ensuring the packaging itself did not damage them. The package also contained a very useful velvet travel pouch (mine are all falling to pieces, so that was a nice, serendipitous surprise), an information card and, most remarkably, a certificate of authenticity. It was with more delight that I examined the contents. I received about two dozen Tourmalines of various sizes, which number included several beautiful specimens of classic Watermelon Tourmaline, a number of Pink Tourmalines (fine by me, because this particular form of the gem has very happy associations), a Canary and a Peach Tourmaline, and even two which, although I have yet to see them in proper daylight - the package arrived near sunset yesterday, and the sun is about 45 minutes from rising as I write - appear to be Achroites with a small hint of green at one corner. Such variety is not to be sniffed at! Thanks to this seller, my collection of Tourmaline crystals lacks but one, which will be much trickier to obtain: the very rare Violet Tourmaline. I'm a crystal whisperer and, as a fortunate owner of the ultra-rare Rainbow Tourmaline (a piece of luck I still marvel at almost two years later), I'm familiar with the gem - it's something of a speciality - so I can say with some certainty that though their journey has been long, they haven't suffered unduly through the experience. Which is thanks in part to Kalifano's care, and thanks in part to that ingenious packaging. As far as the price is concerned, I'll simply say this: I've seen for sale, on other Stateside websites, single classic Watermelon Tourmaline crystals (that's green on the outside with a pink to pinkish-red core; there are also other forms, such as green on the outside with a blue core) which, with equivalent shipping to my home (please ignore what Amazon say at the top of my review, I am in fact based in the UK) would have cost me more for just the one crystal, than I paid for the entire Kalifano set plus shipping. I am, in all honesty, a born critic; but there is simply nothing about the purchase or the experience that I can find even the most minor fault with. A hearty well done a Merry Christmas, and a MOST RECOMMENDED, for both the seller and the product!

The packaging is I am sure what I was paying the premium for. As the crystals themselves were just OK rough and over 40grams/200crts.

i have ordered many times from kalifino and all was good, but this time disappointed, the stone not as photo, no colored stone and just break pieces, not recommended

They appear a bit nicer in the photo provided. Still did not break the bank. Quality wise they again appeared to be better in the photos provided. Had a few nice size chunks but other pieces were more like chips.

I was expecting quality the same as the photo. I’ve collected crystals for years and have to say I’m disappointed with the tourmaline I received. This was my first purchase from Kalifano…if I return it…I gamble on what the next shipment might be like. 🙃
