Great Monitor
After years of faithful service my old 50Hz LG monitor gave up the ghost and it was time to start hunting for a new one. After hours of research I decided on this. It has some great reviews from various sights and was the right size considering my rather limited space. It was a breeze to set up (except for the cable management loop around the back which required considerable force to snap into place, I was convinced that I was going to break it). You can adjust the screen in both directions and in height which is handy. After switching it on it became obvious that the settings needed recalibrating but a quick search on Google set me up pretty quick. A lack of remote control combined with awkward bezels under the screen made his a little more irritating than necessary but wasn't a major issue in fact it most likely down to me being lazy more than anything. The red light at the back is relatively unobtrusive and after a while I didn't really notice it. Overall for the price this is well worth it, specs similar to a lot of the higher end models for a bit less, easy to use, sturdy stand that's easy to assemble and mount the monitor on and after adjusting the screen settings it became a great value piece of kit. Thoroughly recommend!!

Best display, Motion clarity is the king of this display
Absolutely amazing, cost of the display is mind blowing, really puts the other displays to shame

A worthy upgrade
I had hoped to be the first to review the new XG2402 on here, and perhaps I've just managed it! This (was) the '2017 model', came out in winter 2017, 144Hz freesync monitor (XG2402), an upgraded version of the XG2401. I upgraded from an asus VE248H which is a 60Hz TN panel. Umm, lots of thoughts so far - in general, I find I'm still tweaking to get it how I like it visually (there are loads of settings), but I was pleased to see no pixel problems, so I'm gonna end up keeping it if it doesn't explode over xmas :D When I pay hundreds of pounds for something, I expect to have something either in perfect working order or quick-fixable. My RX480 is almost certainly never going to get 144Hz in games with the highest settings, but some compromises here and there (tessellation lowering for one), or simply aiming for anything in the freesync range (e.g. 60fps) is more than doable and it's buttery smooth, tear-free gaming til the cows come home now! I'm finding it harder to 'tweak and be done with it' than the asus, because the site I used last time to calibrate the colours was very obvious when I was at the ideal spot. For the viewsonic, I can see the different colour contrasts perfectly even with lots of adjusting! There is a bit of bleeding around the lower right and a minor difference in warmth when looking at a pure white image between the top and bottom of the screen, so it's by no means an IPS monitor. ATM this doesn't bother me especially, because I'd rather have lower latency and not spend double the price on a monitor right now lol Compared to the XG2401, this is supposed to have more gamma options? It does have a lot to choose from. It's hard to describe, it's made games look more 'gamey', but high definition pictures look so much better. Pushing the option buttons can be a faff, the interface could be a bit better. It has an option not to display the 'power on' light on the monitor, which is nice. The biggest plus by far is the 144Hz and AMD Freesync - it's so nice not to not have tearing anymore and I love how silky the mouse moves around lol I had my asus attached flush to a wall...now it does say repeatedly that the viewsonic is vesa compatible (100x100mm), exactly the same size, but the stand it comes with doesn't look like I can just use the same stuff. (It's a fantastic stand by the way, very meaty) so at the moment I'm looking for a viewsonic proprietary wall mount thing (it slots into the back in a circle you see). Debating whether or not to sacrifice the deskspace permanently lol I'm happy with it so far, the pros definitely outweigh the cons (and thank god I didn't have to send it back for bad pixels), but I find myself wondering what the samsung is like now. I find curved monitors a bit gimmicky though :P When these were first available a couple of weeks ago (literally hot off the shelf with a manufacturing date labelled as '1st Nov 2017'), amazon had them at £275 and later £250 which they're at now at time of writing. I'm a little disappointed to pay £25 for the same thing, but I'm just so glad not to have any pixel problems and have to worry about sending it back (fingers crossed). I also looked at the Alienware 240Hz for its deliciously thin bezels but heard it was lacking in the settings department which viewsonic certainly isn't.

Very decent TN screen, but missing two minor parts.
The monitor needed quite some adjustments from the factory settings as it was way too bright and washed out. This seems to be a common issue with TN screens, though, and I was well prepared for it. After making some changes using information from a review site and then fine tuning it using the lagom tests website I now have a much better image quality. However, there are two minor issues. Firstly, no Quick Guide was present in the box. Secondly, no cable management loop was present on the stand. Neither of these are important when it comes to the display itself, but nevertheless they are missing and that is a disappointment. I did get two power cables, though, one a UK 3 pin plug and the other a 2-pin plug.

Excellent motion clarity
Great product with excellent build quality and design but expensive for the benefits that can be provided by cheaper alternatives

Awful monitor!
I purchased this after my old one broke and I wish I hadn't bothered! It seemed ok for the first 10 or so minutes but after that I couldn't look at it as it hurt my eyes!! I had to return this and get a refund, my advice is to avoid this product!

Amazing build quality
Had this monitor for 2 months now and can safely say it's a good bang for your buck. Setup out of the box is a matter of sliding some parts together taking no longer than 2 mins with no tools required whatsoever. The picture quality out of the box is a bit washed but I'm you tamper with the settings you can get a decent image quality (I recommend looking up some configs). It comes with a display port so you can utilise the 144hz and the freesync is also a nice touch for the price. The best thing about this monitor though is the stand and the overall build quality. This monitor is so solid. The stand is made from a metal base and the main support is super thick and sturdy. You can adjust the angle and position of the monitor very easily. There is an almost 180 degree pivot on the bottom you can adjust the tilt and overall it is just so easy to use. 10/10 would recommend

Even better than I expected
Even better than I expected. People often criticize it's color accuracy, but IMHO it looks wonderful after minimal adjustments. The feeling when you adjust height and inclination is one of a reliable and strong product. I only have some complaints about the cable management holder that is not as firm as I would expect, and the audio volume, that's lower than I expected. Everything else is perfect. Buttons are comfortable and give good feedback. On screen menu is excellent. The screen can be turned left or right for showing something to a partner without moving the base. It includes connections for HDMI, DisplayPort, an USB extension for 2 USB 3.0 devices, and an Audio Output for headphones. And games look and feel stunningly beautiful and fluid with it's image quality and the 144 hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time.
