An impressive CPU. Moore's Law upheld.
My first computer was ZX Spectrum 56k. My second, a Commodore 64. Third, Amiga 300. 4th, Amiga 500, 5th, Quad speed Win95, 6th, Win98 P4 1.7Ghz. 7th, AMD Phenom ll Q4 955 3.2Ghz. <= (excluding my laptops) What can I say. Other than on paper, I now realise I have had more computers than I have relationships ! :$ Which may not say a lot for my chatup lines, but hopefully it will my coding ones! Moore's law is still upheld, in principle. And, as long as we [mankind] don't annihilate each other, the future can only be bright. This is a great processor, capable of computations I only dreamed about as a boy. (I'm 35) I am from the home PC generation. I used to study my 'BASIC' coding book for my spectrum on Saturday afternoons when I was 7. I now develop software for various companies as well as motion graphics. I'm not keen on the K versions. I don't OC. It worked straight out of the box with a new Gigabyte Z97-UD5H-BK. I swapped the stock cooler for a BeQuiet Dark Rock 3, and runs cool and extremely quiet. 100% recommended for staggering stability and performance for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

10/10 CPU, Cheap, brilliant!
Upgraded to this from a i5-4460 and you can tell the difference. I used to close games to ensure I wouldn't have any FPS issues when playing other games, now I can have any game open and running in the background without stressing about the CPU not being able to handle it. It's perfect, can handle having open anything you need without worries or concern, would recommend.

Get the 4790k instead
Spend the extra money and get the 4790k, it will stay relevant longer and is only ~£20 more. Much better value for money than this. This is still a decent processor though.

Great for gamers and editors alike!
Great chip! This is a great processor all round delivering great power with reasonable power consumption. I personally recommend this i7 if you are a pc gamer or/and a firstish time editor with rendering performance being great for the price and socket. Pros&Cons PROS Greats stability Good temperature distribution Very reasonable price Very powerful for the price CONS Can not overclock and that's about it for cons that I can think of off the top of my head. To summarize Great performance for a non overclocked processor. I recommend it for gamers and editors that don't have the budget to upgrade to skylake and is all round a good addition to most systems.

Intel I7 4790
I do alot of video editing and this chip has certainly speeded up my work flow. What took what took up to an hour on my old I5 is now completed in half the time. The grandkids love it as it made their games perform much better. All in all definately worth the money.

But a very good cpu, would recommend
Although it says 3.60GHz, it is actually 4GHz, if you go to intel's official website and search for this processor, it will say ''base clock speed, 4GHz''. plus i have purchased this and it says 4GHz on the box and it clearly goes ever 3.6 in the performance tab on the task manager. But a very good cpu, would recommend.(Assuming that you have the money)

Great value, speed and power.
The best high end CPU for your money. The retail boxed processor comes wit its own heat-sink and fan. I used thermal paste on top of the layer already on the back of processor to ensure tighter contact. Very pleased I paid the small price difference to buy it instead of iCore 5.

The i7 4790(not the K)is the CPU to get for a HP G1 800 SFF gaming rig with a GTX 1050ti for FPS!
Be buying from this trusted seller time and time again from now on, i just wish they sold motherboards!

Bought one of these used for about $180 to upgrade from the Intel Core i5-4430 that came with my HP Envy 700-074. Not the best value on the market compared to the Ryzen 5 2400G or 3400G, but offers similar performance to those CPU's. At the time of this review, those are much better values for building new PC's and include an upgrade path to CPU's with more cores, something that isn't doable with older Intel consumer platforms. The additional clock speed and hyperthreading definitely allow for snappier and smoother performance. Gaming performance is improved massively compared to the i5-4430 when it comes to the latest AAA games, with a 15-30 percent improvement in performance in older games that have little use for more than four threads. Installing it was easy. All it involved was swapping out the i5-4430 and inserting this CPU in its place along with a fresh application of thermal paste and reusing the original OEM HP cooler. It runs slightly hotter than the i5, but temps stayed below 70c even under intensive testing. Overall, I am very pleased with this processor. The i7-4790k was still over $200 at the time I did the upgrade, and that would have been the CPU I would have gone for had it been closer to the non-K version in price due to its additional performance. September 2020 Update: The PC this went in has been retired as of June 2020, but I enjoyed the short time I had it with this processor. My only regret is that I purchased the processor near the tail end of the HP Envy 700-074's useful life. I have since replaced it with a Ryzen 5 3600-based iBUYPOWER prebuilt, and I'm enjoying it as much as I enjoyed the Envy 700-074 in its early days of use in the fall of 2013.

Processore eccellente dalle performance incredibili.
