New Look Sewing Pattern 6447A Misses' Dresses, Paper, White, 22 x 15 x 1 cm, 8-10-12-14-16-18-20

I had made a lot of clothes before, but it is the first time that I use a pattern to make a dress. I am in the middle of finish the dress A, already very excited to see the fittings. It is a very good pattern to suit my body overall. My dress size is normally between 8-10. The measurement of the instruction is small, so I followed size 10 on the pattern, which turned out to be very well. I do need to take a bit in on the bodice but otherwise perfect. I used 135mm cotton for the dress which is not indicated in the instruction, the length need is 1.30cm. I am very happy with the result that I will do another version with a fuller skirt next.

My younger sister has recently become interested in sewing, so for Christmas I got her a few sewing patterns. Each set comes with a few different sewing patterns. The patterns come in a small package, which when opened unfolds the multiple patterns on some form of tracing paper? Whilst I'm not sure if it follows traditional methods of sewing patterns, she was very content with the gift, using them almost immediately to create her new dresses. She claimed the patterns were simple and easy to follow, making the dress in a few hours after starting. Attached images are of the end product dress she made, very proud for her first time sewing a full outfit.

Had to adjust pattern for my fit but no issues with style, love the simplicity of the pattern and bust darts - easy sew!

I enjoyed making this because the bodice with sleeves is fairly complicated but the end result is very good. I have had lots of compliments on my dress, so I will be making this again in another view.

Have now made this dress. Very pleased with result.

Delivery good. Printing on some of the pattern pieces not very brilliant. Not as easy as expected.

Personally, I don't think this is a beginner pattern. I had to shorten waist slightly for my figure. Never fitted an invisible zip b4 but it went in a dream. This pattern did come up a bit small for my usual size 12 but I was able to adjust darts a little and side seams to snatch some extra width. Top is lined and once done leaves a professional finish. I really like this dress completed using a good quality cotton and fine cotton lining so as not to add bulk or warmth. I haven't sewn garments for a few years and I enjoyed making this dress. There's something nice about making your own perfectly fitted dress. Good to challenge yourself every now and then. Oh and I purchased a purpose made invisible zipper foot for my Janome sewing machine for this project which made insertion a doddle.

I bought this and made style b for the dress for my brother’s wedding. I got a ton of compliments!

Of course it's very thin paper, whereas nowadays recycled thicker paper is more common. I haven't sewed it yet but the instructions look very clear.

I am an experienced home sewer. This is a very nice pattern but l would not classify as a beginners pattern. Multiple sizes on one pattern. I haven’t sewen this dress pattern but will be soon for this summer, as there are no nice dresses for women these days. Sewing lesson for less experienced sewers…. For a good fit measure the back length to the waist on the pattern, to your back length to waist and alter (lengthen or shorten) if needed, or the waist will be in the wrong place when the dress is finished and result in a bad fit which will be unwearable. As all patterns are different, I alway measure all important parts of the pattern and compare to myself, then make the paper alterations, before the layout and cutting. Watch you tube vids for pattern alterations for guidance. Some vids are simple and others are more complicated depending on the alteration. Arrived on time and in good condition.

Der Schnitt ist gut, das Oberteil hat hinten einen Ausschnitt, siehe Foto, das wurde bei amazon nicht gezeigt. Das habe ich dann für mein Kleid geändert, das Oberteil sitzt gut, besonders wenn es ärmellos ist. Das Modell mit Arm finde ich nicht so gelungen, weil dann der Ärmel überschnitten ist und die Schultern breiter wirken. Mich stört es nicht, dass nicht alles auf deutsch geschrieben ist, weil die Teile als solche ja bezeichnet sind. Der Ausschnitt vorne ist klasse.
