Espresso Coffee Tamper 58.5mm, Level Coffee Tamper for 58mm Portafilter, Adjustable Depth Stainless Steel Ripple Base

The product is well made and a great value. I was on the fence about 4-5 stars. Here are my thoughts: Pros: - The finish is very good. The tamper is well made, attractive, and nice to use. - The dimensions are very accurate. The diameter is indeed 58.5mm and it fits nicely in my Gaggia double basket. - Everything works properly and feels good (setting depth, plunging the tamper, etc.) Cons: - There is a spring, but that spring adds resistance to you pushing the tamper against the portafilter (it does not have anything to do with how hard you are tamping the grounds). - I find that the ringed surface can 'tear out' patches of grounds sometimes when I remove it. This may come down to technique, but I have never had this problem with a flat bottom tamper. The fact that you cannot twist the tamper before you remove it may also contribute to this issue.

Great option for the price - consistent and level tamps. It's seems pretty well built and has some heft to it. The price was a fraction of what my previous manual tamper cost, so no complaints.

I was previously using just the basic tamper that came with the machine, which was basically a plastic circle with a handle. This tamper feels like a massive upgrade in comparison. It's pretty heavy and just feels like a quality item. The depth setting has a satisfying click to indicate the change, and the pattern on the bottom makes it easy to tell if you have the right depth. It's also super easy to use. The tamp is now consistent with a single press, and the puck after use doesn't show any signs of channeling. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Use this every morning to make my espresso. I like how it's solid and adjustable. Very well made and nice looking too!

I've been using a regular tamper until now, which was only a few dollars cheaper than this one. I wish I had just got this from the start!!! I have perfectly level grinds now and it feels very expensive and satisfying in my hand. I can't imagine the more expensive ones could do it any better! Perfect price and perfect tamper, i'm so happy with it!! Dont waste your money with the $45-$100 tampers, this is all you need!!!

I really like me coffee to make some great stuff. Wanna try it one of the grinders!!! For 20 bucks is hands-down one of the best tampers you can get. I love the fact that there’s a gauge on it that it’s consistent with the spring and that it has leveling. Build right in love this thing so happy I got it.

This fits the 58mm baskets really well. Tampa very nice. Has a good weight. Not to hard to clean.
