The first one I ever ordered was a different brand and was flimsy and you couldn't even sit on it. However, the deck box from this brand is superior in every way! From clear instructions, to thoughtful product packaging, this product was worth putting together. This deck box has hydraulics to hold the lid up or self lift the lid (with enough pressure). For us it doubles down as a outdoor porch seat, sturdy enough not to break when assembled correctly. Would definitely recommend for those looking for outdoor porch storage, we use it for our garden tools. There's enough space to fit a good bit of stuff.

I bought this deck box because I was getting tired of my deliveries being left in random places outside my apartment door. Since I live in an apartment, I wanted something that would not only help keep my packages together but also look nicer and feel a little more secure. So far, I think this box really serves that purpose. The box feels pretty durable and strong, and I like that it is lightweight enough to move around when needed. The size is also a good fit for my space without looking too bulky. I especially like that it can double as a seat, which makes it more useful than just being a storage box. One thing I will say is that I did not really like the paper instructions. I found them a little difficult to follow. Thankfully, I noticed that there was an assembly video on the actual product listing, so I watched that instead. The video made everything SO much easier for me to understand, and once I followed along with it, putting the box together was pretty simple and quick. I also bought a sticker from Amazon to put on the box, which made it look even nicer and helped give it more of the appearance I wanted for my front door area. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. It looks much nicer than having packages randomly sitting outside my door, it feels sturdy, and I like that it can be used for storage or as an extra seat. The assembly instructions could definitely be improved, but the video on the listing was a huge help. For what I wanted it for, I think it is a great solution.

Overall, I like the box. I took away 1 star due to the material of construction being a bit flimsy, especially the lid. The outer side edges curve upward so it doesn't seal 100%. It looks like the pneumatic supports cause the issue. That being said, this box is great for storing our patio furniture covers. Water doesn't get in and it can hold the weight of someone sitting on it, but I wouldn't use it as a seating solution.

I just received this 30 gallon deck box and put it together. I love it and can think of so many uses so I ordered 2 more; going to use one inside and 2 outside. I’m a 77 year old female and had no problem putting it together. You have to follow the pictures closely and I made sure I knew which part was which because it wasn’t marked. I made sure I knew exactly which piece goes where before starting, and it snapped together really well. I had purchased a similar product a while back and ended up throwing it away because the pieces wouldn’t go together but this one is so well designed it was easy. I got the black one because it’s on sale and it looks great and you can actually sit on it. Highly recommend it; its a perfect size for me so I can handle it easily. Seems sturdy for my purposes. Love it.

I'm thinking that most of the negative reviews about assembly were from people who are mechanically challenged. Had the box together in 15 minutes and then another 15 to install the hinges. Everything lined up perfectly. It's sturdy enough to hold all of my pool chemicals and at the price, I think it's a very fair value. We'll see how it holds up but so far, I'm very impressed and I'd consider myself very discriminating. Strong buy recommendation.

This product would have received 5 stars had it included instructions for assembly! Disappointing. Took me much longer than it should have in putting the box together. You won’t need tools to assembly. The pieces snap together. Some places require a little pressure or hitting with the heel of the hand.
