Can this be used for dispensing potable water from barrel?

The P200 is certify to NSF-61. It can be used in a potable water application. Thank you for your inquiry.

Is this valve sunlight resistant?

The body is UV resistant. The handle is somewhat resistant, but would be more susceptible to UV damage. Thank you for your inquiry.

can be used with galvanized piping/nipples ?

This can be used with galvanized piping/nipples as long as the pipe has NPT threads. Please take caution in inserting the pipe as over insertion can crack the PVC valve.

Why is the brand "american" and the thread "ips"? ips (iron pipe straight) is straight threads which aren't used in this country. we uses npt, nation

IPS = Iron pipe size and refers to the OD of the pipe not the thread dimensions. The "Product Features" section of the "From the manufacturer" section shows that it is "Female NPT × Female NPT". Your question suggests that you've confused two standards, i.e. OD pipe standard dimensions—e.g., IPS and CTS—with thread standards—e.g., NPT or GHT. IPS = Iron Pipe Size CTS = Copper Pipe Size NPT = National [i.e., US] Pipe Thread GHT = Garden Hose Thread
